De-indexed?

Hi Guys,
As I'm quite new to this, I'm not sure how to interpret what I see. perhaps someone here could clear things up for me.
I have two recently constructed sites that are a couple of months old. One of them was at position number 4 on page 2 for a particular keyword for a couple of weeks or so.
I thought it would be a good idea to get a couple of rounds of backlinks from Fiverr for the sites. You know the type, 125 manually built quality backlinks etc.
Now a week or so after the first batch of links has been applied to my first site, the site has disappeared from the SERPS altogether, although the number of pages indexed by G has not changed according to SEOBook.
In addition, the Google Analytics tracking code has mysteriously stopped working.
For the second site, I had 55 pages indexed by google, and when I use SEOBook, I see the number of pages indexed by G is slowly diminishing. Was 55, then 52, then 50 - now 49.
Can anyone please explain what's happening in a general sense?
