Do Free blogs work well for linkbuilding

Hey Warriors,

I don't know about you but I want to make sure that my linkbuilding efforts don't go to waste with any new algorithm update that big G might come up with. So after some thought and realizing that automatically posted backlinks won't work in the near future, my solution is to create Free blogs on Wordpress.com, Blogger, Tumblr, etc. about your niche and manually create content that links or recommends your actual website.

Has anyone tried this method for building high quality manual links?

I also read a post that stated Blogger blogs are not being indexed anymore after the penguin update is this true?

Of course they do. Just post quality stuff that helps people. Avoid spun and duplicate content when you make your free blogs. Think of it as a way to help build your brand. Quality is important.

Yeah free blogs work very well, Make sure the free blog has a high pr rating such as wordpress, squiddo, blogger.com, weebly.com, webs.com, tumblr.com are a few of my favourites.

These blogs also work best if you have unique content on them and make sure you rotate your anchor text to your money site. Also post images and videos in your blogs if possible as this will reduce the rist of the blog being deleted / banned

Also think about book marking all of your created free blogs

Works just fine. You may actually find that you are able to rank these types of sites pretty well since the domains have so much authority.

This is so true. You need to keep supplying quality backlinks consistently then you'll see the rank go up. Forget about trying to rank them using Fiverr profile backlinks.

Yeah. Blogger, Hubpages, Squidoo, etc, all tend to rank really well with a small amount of quality links. (As long as you've done your research and are going after low competition phrases.)

    Perfect!

These blogs will be manual posts and I will add images with alt text to vary up the content. Maybe even post a few Youtube videos in there!

Honestly, as an SEO specialist why don't people just build blogs for their clients and keep them up to date with new fresh content that is optimized instead of paying others to spam links everywhere on the web which cause Panda's and Penguins to show up?!

Even if you don't have the "time" to create new blogs for your websites, why not hire a content writer to post blogs once or twice a week instead of buying links

Anyways Thanks for the feedback, & sorry for the rant!

I have another question that came to mind that might clear up a lot of questions for others as well.

Let's say I'm going to do the blogging/Web 2.0 strategy described above on 10 different niches and 10 different blogs for each. Do search engines see that one IP address is creating all these blogs for different websites that could lead to a penalty?

I am referring to IP diversity for linkbuilding and wondering if the same computer that creates all these blogs and new accounts might raise a red flag?

Anyone try this method of linkbuilding and have feedback?

Agreed QWE & gplayer but that doesn't answer the IP diversity question.

Upon further research I think as long as the actual blogs are created on different platforms such as wordpress.com, weebly.com. blogspot.com etc then there will be a good amount of class c subnet ip diversity.
