If I want to use more than 1 keywords in title what separator should I use to separate the keywords? For an example if the keywords are...

Long hair, Short hair, Straight hair, Curly hair etc. should I separate the keywords using commas as described or I should use "|"? Is there any difference between "," and "|"?

I wouldn't use the word hair 3 times with separators or not.

    I generally use

Primary keyword - Secondary keyword | Business Name

if it all fits. The separator doesn't really matter though.

Sir, what's the essence of not using the same word 3 times? Please give a light on it. Thanks

It looks spammy and could be seen as keyword stuffing.

You can use whatever separator you want. There's no issue on how you separate your keywords in the title IMO.

In my experience, the only difference between them is that they are different separators.

I suppose it will start to look spammy. It doesn't look natural as a title.

I agree with Mike, I just read a post at SEOmoz saying that people over there are starting to notice websites with over optimized Meta Titles are losing rankings and the snippet is being replaced.

I would just focus on the Main keyword for that page, then something generic like the Business name. If you must insist on having additional keywords then why not put keyword #2 on a separate page?

I doubt very seriously if SEOmoz would say anything about meta titles.
They may say something about the title tag, but not the meta title.

Why do people not know the difference?

Newsflash: Meta title is has not been used since 1995.

When people say "meta title," it just puts everything into
      perspective.

Excuse me, I commonly just say Meta Titles and Descriptions because it is easier but yes I did mean the Title tag not the meta title

Then in this case I would do

Long, short, straight, and curly hair | Business Name (or website name)

I also think that this would will be perfect. If you will repeat the word 'hair' multiple times then it will increase the keyword density and it don't look natural too.

Raf, MikeFriedman has a good layout I believe.
Dont forget to use the keywords in other important places, h1 tag, etc. I believe bolded text also holds some extra weight.
Keep us updated down the road on how it all goes. Goodluck!

I agree. I would rather only use the primary keyword once and then add a secondary key phrase that relates to it. I don't want my articles to look spammy.
