How can I increase my SERP now?

(1st website)
-EMD domain with blogger (1 week old)
-5 posts on the blog 500+ words each | keyword bolded, it, underlined, etc + pictures
-0 backlinks
-SERP = #10

(2nd website)
-Keyword is in domain; not EMD (1.5 months old)
-8 posts on the blog (some 300 word articles, some are 500+ word each with keyword bolded, etc + pictures)
-Around 1k backlinks so far (50 a day ish); varied anchor text like 30% exact, 30% near exact, 30% somewhere near exact, 10% click here, click me, etc
-SERP= #11

What I would like to do is bring both websites to #1 of google. According to SEOMOZ and market samurai, the 1st website has a competition of around 40-50k (MS) and 49% in SEOMOZ and the 2nd website has competition of 12k in MS and 20% in SEOMOZ.

For the 1st website, none of the pages on the first page of google even use the keyword except me (They link up because of authority)

and for my 2nd website, I'm competing against 2 other EMD websites with like 50 back links each >1 year old sites. I have much more content than them and have even gotten reviews of being 'scam sites'. The first one ranks #1 and the other EMD ranks at #5-6

I have no idea why I haven't even beaten the small competition for my 2nd website and I'm not sure how to start moving up in the SERPS for my 1st site.

I've seen alot of people buying links, link packages, etc. What should I do?

Thank you

For future site I would start with changing the percentages of anchor txt, you are now doing 30/30/30/10, it should be some what more like:

    33% company name
    33% url
33% different types of anchor txt (click here / visit website is not really needed)

if you do it in your way that you use 30% of the link with your exact anchor then it's waiting for a penalty (although anchor penalties aren't that terrible, it's much more about low quality vs high quality links).

For example: we had a site that was heavily over optimized for 1 anchor, it tanked to page 8, we builded 2 strong PR4 links and it was back at page 2, still a bit lower then it ranked before but it does show that the anchor penalty is just a tiny factor (we did think it was an anchor penalty but it was just hundreds of low quality links that we builded, as in a few hundred brand new web2.0s).

Now to what you should do: You should buy some strong links or write some quality content and offer it as a guestpost.

    • What is company name and for url will I be using w.ww.mydomain.com or http;//my.domain.comor m.ydomain.com or h.ttp://www.mydomain.com?

Company name is your domain name, in case of www.Amazon.com the company name = Amazon, when your website is named: Cash Advance then your company name = Payday Loans.

That's why EMD sites can go pretty crazy with using the exact anchor as it's seen by Google as the company name at the same time.

For url you can use any variation.

    • If my domain is "waterbottles..com' then my company name is Water Bottles or Waterbottles when my keyword is 'water bottles'?

I don't think the space between the 2 words matters.
