Hub pages- are they no follow?

Forgive me if this has been dealt with but I have a need to get a link on certain hubpages. I might even consider paying for the link.

...but only if my text link is do follow.

Two part question:

1) Are hubpages do follow?

2) isn't there a firefox plugin that tells you what is and what isn't do follow?

thanks

  • Hi David

    Hubpages are now all NOFOLLOW

But they still rank well and do pass traffic..

An easy way to spot nofollow links (using FF) is to make a change to one of the FF stylesheets..

Check out how easy it is to do, via this blog post

    Hope this helps

  • Wait a minute Bruce... Hubpages is not 100% nofollow. You can use the Firefox Plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5687 to highlight nofollow links if you like.

Hubpages is 100% nofollow for all links EXCEPT your username and from your user profile pages. Here's what you do:
    1. Select a username that is your main keyword i.e. "SEO+Articles"
    2. Comment on high PageRank Hubs (please add valuable content, not SPAM!)
    3. The link and PageRank to be passed from their page via your username to your user HubPages profile page.
    4. Remember that the more outbound links from that hub you comment on, the more times the PageRank is divided thus the link juice passed is diminished.
    5. From your user profile page you can link to your site(s) with a dofollow link, thus passing PageRank to your site.

    • Correct.. I was referring to the normal hubpages that people put up, rather than the "profile" pages.

I have heard that "hub pages" over a certain level get dofollow by default, but as none of my pages have ever made that level, they are all NOFOLLOW..

      Thanks for the update

  • Hmm - this sounds like Hubpages is more useful when you comment on other pages than trying to create your own then?
  • Hi David

You can have do follow anchor text links in the content of your Hubpage, but you need to have a Hubscore higher than 75. To get your hubscore above 75 requires you to be active in the hubpages community by commenting on other hubpages and regularly logging into your account and being active. Another important factor is the content has to be unique to Hubpages.

Unfortunately the hubscore doesn't remain static so it's an ongoing process to keep those links do follow. You then have to decide whether the activity involved is worth the benefit of the link and traffic you get from it : )

For a good plugin to view no follow links is SeoQuake - extension for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers
