1000 backlinks in a few days? Good or Bad

Hey all,

I've recently been offered about 1000 backlinks spread out over a few days, is this safe for your website, or would you get penalised by the SE?

Any advice would be great.

    1k back links spread out over a month or two is more preferable than spread out over a few days.. Also the quality of those back link sites is key. If someone is offering 1k in a few days I would be concerned with the quality of sites as much as the quantity.

    The chances of these backlinks being of any worthwhile quality is highly unlikely. I would definitely avoid, focus on getting high quality backlinks instead of a high quantity

    If you do massive backlinks then Google consider as a spammer so, be careful whatever you do for your business website. First think then start your work.

      If you collect 1000 backlinks in a few days, then search engine consider it as spamming. It is bad for your site. So, increase the backlinks gradually. Keep continuous in it.

    1000 backlinks is bad, whether you spread it out or not, cause it's offered as a package in a few days I expect it not to be quality backlinks so it must be some kind of cheap spam.

    Volume is really not the solution, you need a natural back link profile, I know sites that rank really well with just 3 back links, yes only three. Obvious that site already had pr0 natural links from relevant directories and what not so pr0 is not all bad, I mean web2.0s and such you can still use but just keep up with 100% IP diversity and forget about forum profile links / wiki blasts / article directory blasts / comment blasts and any of that type.

    It's bad, and will be worst if the backlinks are spammy and low quality. If your website is a newly registered domain, it will hurt even more.

    Actually, it still depends on how the backlinks were spread. But the mere fact that you can't build thousands of good quality backlink in just a few days is a good reason to tell that you are in a wrong side of the track.

    You can get 10,000 links in an hour and be fine. The thing that matters more is if you keep getting 10,000 links every hour.

    Consistency over time of the links coming in is very very important when you are dealing with large amount of backlinks.

    This will surely be suspicious according to google bot... You should try avoiding this kind of huge amount of backlinks in just a single day/days... You should do it continuesly, for example today 50, tomorrow 40, the next day 60, etc.

    Well, it depends of a lot of factors.
    Is your website aged and has quality content?. Do you have backlinks already pointed to your site?. Have you been constantly building links lately?.

    There's no way to know whether Google will slap your site or not, but don't be scared by those who say that you'll be banned. What about viral sites?. For example, those who hit the frontpage of Digg or Slashdot. They get hundreds of links in a short period of time and they're not slapped by search engines. Whatever you do, try to look as natural as possible and you'll be fine.

    I wouldn't say this is bad because Google won't necessarily find them all at once. With that many links though, from likely low quality sites, I'd definitely pay more attention to the anchor text diversity and avoid pinging the links. Just let Google find them, which is part of the reason people create so many in the first place.

    Whatever you decide to do though, just make sure you keep it consistent. Building thousands of links over a few days and then suddenly stopping because you're nervous will do more to hurt you than anything else.

    1k backlinks spread over few days.... that is something that Google doesn't want. So better not to go for it. Better go for slow and steady back linking without the use of any automated software.

    I don't think these links will hurt...if you point them to your competition...No, I'm just kidding, try to avoid getting a huge number of backlinks to your site. There's no magic number of backlinks that can be added...it depends on the age of the site, the quality of the content, etc...I'm adding around 10-20 backlinks per day, but you can call me lazy...

    I have to say that it is OK if you have 1000 backlinks in a few days. I dare say that even if you have 1000 backlinks in one hour, that is OK too.

    Only IF your site is authoritative or is viewed as trusted by Google.

    Remember that Apple can receive 1000s of backlinks within hours from various tech blogs everytime they host WWDC.

    "The Amazing Spiderman" website can get 1000s of backlinks within hours prior to their preview.


    So, can your website get 1000s of backlinks in a few days? Yes, only if your site is authoritative.

    It all depends on how many backlinks your site already has plus domain age, PR, indexed pages, etc.......if your site is 5 years old with 20,000 links, a PR4 and 100+ pages indexed, 1,000 links in a week will be fine, however if your site is 6 months old, 5 pages indexed, PR1 with 2,000 links then sending a 1,000 will be risky....

    It is not good practice of SEO, there are high possibilities to get penalty from Google for excess links in short time period. It is better to spread 1000 links over at least 4 months time to make your link building so natural. Do not forget "Google loves natural link building"

      This is true. Link velocity is very important. If it can come from diverse IP pool, it would be an ideal!

    Normally you can pull it off with 1000 backlinks if the links were nofollow. if the links are dofollow i would get worried. If it's directory submission that is fine as well as most directories take months before approving your site. It really depends how you go around it, the more authority links you have the better.

    NOfollow links to be more clear is from blog comments, wiki links and some .edu ones as well you can get away with mass submissions without disturbing google.
