I am posting my own unique content on my page....

Will it benefit me in even the slightest bit if i take other peoples related niche articles from ezine and post them on my page? I am trying to rank for certain keywords and i dont know if this will have any benefit.

thx

Why do people keep trying to put this square peg into a round hole? Syndication is about pleasing your audience, not a search engine. Until you realize that you are severely limited in what you are going to accomplish.

That being said, go ahead and syndicate other content if it's good enough. Your readers want great information.

ok then i will use the other term that people love to throw around... duplicate content!

If i copy other peoples content off of the article sites and post it on my site.. will it do anything for my search engine ranking since it will be mixed with my unique content.

*Sigh* I've seen you in other syndication threads already. Surely Alexa has told you about duplicate content by now? Did you read the links? Syndicated content is not duplicate content.

After searching some more i found the answer to my question. If i post sombody elses article from ezine, etc.... Google will see it and just not index it. So the answer to my question is NO it will not help my serp a single bit.

Syndicated content has nothing to do with search engine ranking.. it is only about the people on the website having something to read.

I think you're pretty close. If SEO for you begins and ends with backlinks and credit for them, you're right. Adding syndicated content won't help you.

On the other hand, adding carefully selected relevant content from others helps with relevance and authority. It also provides opportunities for strengthening your internal structure.

Tiny correction: If you post a republished article, Googlebot will see it. Google will index it. They just won't display it in most serps. Here's where relevance and authority come in, only this time they work in your favor.

One thing new syndicators often get stressed over is having their syndicated article outrank the original on their own site. Often the effect is temporary when the outranking site is something like an article directory. If the article is picked up by a site with more authority or relevance for a particular query, the syndicated copy may again outrank the original. In this case, the site with the syndicated copy could be yours.

For the author, this is still a good thing. Maybe not as good as someone finding the article on the author's site, but still good.

Good info my friend. I will find some highly relevant articles and then see which ones have not been syndicated quite as much. Then i might have an inkling of a chance to rank higher. I guess it will still help me getting more content indexed for my website.
