Should I buy An Aged Domain?

It is a good strategy. You can build your own blog network for yourself. Worth the time and money IMO.

If you can find a High PR domain in your niche, then you ABSOLUTELY should purchase it. It will be far easier to rank the root domain as well as all of the inner pages. Your one time investment will pay for itself many times over.

ON TOP OF THAT, you can also send external links to other properties that you own. So you can easily increase the page rank of your other domains as well. With only two pr 4 domains, I can easily create a couple additional pr 3 websites.

So really, you get a lot of benefits from buying a high pr website.

Make sure you check domain history.I once purchased a domain with a job related keyword and it turned out that it was used as a p0rn directory before....

You should purchase a old high PR domain. But before purchasing check the PR is fake or actual. And check the backlinks to the domain. If most the backlinks came from bad sites then you should not purchase it. It'll be much easier to rank an old domain related to your niche.

The only advantage is the age and any backlinks this domain has picked up during its lifetime. PR rank will be loss. Just buy a clean domain that is relevant to your topic.

aged domain , exact match and your keyowrds in domain if exact match not available is always recommended whenever it is possible. there is no doubt about it. Go for it

YES DO BUY AN AGED DOMAIN!

Only reason I say that is the first site I bought was an aged domain (only 2 years), my competitors all had pr3 ranking websites.

It took me 3 months to do but I am now on page 1 of google for a moderately competitive search term (position #4).

I am very much a newbie at SEO (a passionate newbie who never stops reading) but I think the aged domain helped me a lot.

I also focused a TON on social media for backlinks/likes, never used anchor text for blog commenting, and did a few other things as well.

Here is one final word. I had the option to buy a keyword rich .info domain (new) or a moderately keyword rich .com (with only half the words I needed) but wound up going for the second one because it was aged. Also because I noticed many of my competitors on page 1 had aged domains (not neccessarily keyword rich) and that also played a role in my decision making.

I wish I bought both and split tested, but I'm ranking so thats all I care about right now (well that and avoiding the sandbox of course).

See, domain age matters sometimes... If the domain which you are going to use have good reputation and good amount of backlinks.

Same thing goes in reverse, if you domain has bad reputation... that will have negative impact on your website's reputation.

On the other hand if you have a 10 year old parked domain that will have zero impact on your website's reputation.

I have a aged domain and with good PR (PR 4). But this domain chinadollbnb.com was sandbox-ed by Google because low quality content (I Know from Google warning while i submit this site on Google Webmasters). So in my opinion aged is not give you a sure guaranted. Quality is number one. CMIIW

It used to be a good strategy if you want to rank quicker in Google. However, things have changed since the Penguin update.

From my experience, Google is putting less consideration in Domain Age and PR. They still have a role in SEO Ranking Algorithm but they are not as powerful as they used to be.

take a deep look inside the domain. The ranks are real or not, the visitors are real or not etc.
If the domain name contains the exact same keyword that you want to rank at first then without any doubt you should buy it.

you should get expiring domain not expired and domain should be relative to your niche for example your niche is weight loss you need domain in same niche that already has or had relative content on the page, but if you buy some high PR domain that has nothing to do with your niche then you will having hard time to rank the reason when search engine crawler crawl the new content it will notice that content is totally different as well backlink that point to the site has nothing to do with your new content and keyword's, and it will looks like that you are trying to game the ranking with high PR domain, I already test this on several High PR domains...

What about a pr1 with 15 years? Does it worth? Does it rank betters than a new domain? Age (just age, not page rank) still matters to search engines?

I find it easier to rank aged domains.

Domain aged and PR take their portion on SERPs, however it's just a complex as usual.

Old domain will "easier" to get ranked, and of course with another consideration must done

Godaddy auctions can get you some gems for under 10 bucks, I've personally had great success with them vs new domains. Absolutely go for it.
