Anyone else obsessed with making new accounts all over the internet?

I don't know if this is a bad habit but it started the very first day I got into marketing. I had this thought that "seo is merely dominating the internet", so if I can build my own little empire, it will allow me to dominate the internet that much quicker (with google attacks always in mind of course).

Well apparently its working, because my first site is ranking on page 1 for a fairly competitive keyword. Not super competitive, but all the websites are pr3 that I'm competeting against, and I've recently moved to the #4 position.

This is after 3 months of work, my first site yes, but it took me 3 months to do (it was an aged domain btw - 2 years old). Never the less, I'm now making decent money from the site generating leads.

So my "account making ocd" has gotten even worse. I do this all behind proxies and fill out the accounts to make them look like real users. On facebook right now I have about 32 accounts, youtube 14, accounts on digg, tumblr, pinterest any popular social media site that exists I have more than 1 account on.

I think I do this because part of me HATES making accounts more than anything, but since discovering "roboform" I can now set up accounts at mach speed. It basically registers all your info for you. You can save different profiles/passwords and use them for different accounts, or use the same password in every account.

After the accounts are made, just save your info in an msword so everything is together in the same place.

I'm also building up my own little blog empire. Then I have a bunch of blogger accounts I'm not even using yet. Since I only target a few different niches, I keep the few active blogs I have relevant, and as they get more and more traffic, that just means better links for my websites.

I also use scrapebox to harvest high pr relevant blogs, extract all the blogs, then manually leave relevant/quality comments with my naked url. Takes about 1-2 mins a link (many don't stick so I don't go crazy with it). Then I also have a few social bookmarking accounts.

Thats not the point however. Point is I have this msword file that is now 90 pages long of hundreds upon hundreds of different accounts/passwords.

The longer it gets, the more I wonder "is this even neccessary"?

I just can't convince myself to stop, who knows the next time I'll need a new facebook account or youtube account? All I know is when I'm building links, the last thing I want to do is go back and forth making a new account, post link, make new account, post link.

Worst part is I try to keep many of these accounts active lol. It takes a bit of time but not as much as you'd suspect.

My question here is am I taking this too far? For a good portion of my facebook accounts I fill out the info, will either use a stock photo of a person (that looks natural) or a random picture of a pet. When I need backlinks, I log into all these accounts, post something on my wall, then link my website.

For youtube, I don't even make videos. I just use my microphone with powerdirector, do a quick audio voice over, add a few pics, then rehash the video and upload to other accounts for different keywords.

For craigslist I don't buy PVAs, I only have 6 accounts there all verified under friends cell phone numbers. I just found out which one of my friends didn't use CL, asked if I could use their phone to make an account, and now if I want I can make up to 18 posts a day on CL. No accounts have gotten flagged yet (probably because I'm linking a real business).

Anyhow, my question is as already stated. Is this normal?
Should I be approaching things differently?

It definitely appears to be working like I said my site is on page 1, I'm just not even sure if all this work is even neccessary, or if there is a more efficient way to be doing all this?

Finally, is this basically what senuke x does for you? I think one day I will definitely have to buy the software if it can save me some time doing what I do now.

Thanks - Red

It actually sounds like a good strategy. The deciding factor is how long it takes you. If it is taking you hours a day to do all of this, and you don't see that much benefit, it is not that great of a strategy.

This is less spammy / trackable than senuke x, but it is basically doing the same thing.

If this is working for you, I would stick with it. One question, you said you have multiple blogs. Are you creating the content for these multiple blogs, or are they spun articles?

No I don't spin them. Not because I have anything against spinning, but I kinda do enjoy making new content. I figure "someone is going to click on this and come to my site, so the blogs better be damn good/original if I plan on converting prospects".

One day I may learn how to spin articles, or even get them syndicated, but its not a major concern atm. As far as how much time it takes, it takes about 3 hours a day on average. Is it worth it? Well 3 months working around 3 hours a day, and I'm just NOW making money, so its hard to say. This week I sold 12 leads at $30 a pop so $360. Some weeks its only 4-5 leads, other weeks around 20. I think I can definitely scale up what I'm doing though, maybe focus on 3-4 main lead gen sites, and possibly make a decent income for myself in the future.

So yeh it definitely seems worth it if I look towards the future instead of the last 3 months lol.

Building a foundation/strategy is my main concern, I know articles should be a part of that but I already waste enough time w/out spinning. =]

    Then there is your answer!

If you are making decent money, enjoy the work, not spending too many hours a day, and think you can scale it.... You, my friend, have got yourself a business.

I like your style. I'm not an expert at what you're dealing with as far as your blog and so on, but I can relate it to what I'm doing currently.

I just got into IM about a month and a half ago when I was seeking a career change. The first week or two was very stressful because I was constantly creating new content and accounts to post it with. Once I built up my inventory of ads and accounts(basically building up my foundation) my life has become much less difficult.

I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing, but then again I'm not on a expert.
