URL Pagerank and Domain Pagerank

In scrapebox there is this option to look for URL pagerank and Domain pagerank.

What's the difference? Which one should we be looking at when buying the domain name?

I figured that it should be Domain Pagerank.

What do you think?

The URL pagerank and Domain pagerank will be exactly the same for the root URL.

The URL pagerank would only be different for an innerpage of a blog. For example, the page you just created in this forum is a PR n/a. But that doesn't change that the Warrior Forum has a PR 5 home page.

So to answer your question, it really doesn't matter. I'd only be concerned with the URL pagerank feature if I was looking at an inner page.

Another case of people just not knowing. Makes me realize why people
buy an EMD and toss up wordpress.

A domain is not a url.

if a domain is 2 of PR the you should check like this "example.com" not example.com/index.php or by other ext.
I understand what you're saying, but he's already checking the "example.com" root url when domain shopping. His question is more about whether scrapebox would supply different results for the domain url (example.com) with Url page rank checker or domain page rank checker.

And to answer his question, the page rank for the root url will be the same for both checkers. If he was looking at a URL other than the root, then the 2 checkers could offer very different results.

You should follow the domain page rank.

Well, every page has its own PR... there is a possibility of having different PR for different pages of the same website. While buying a domain it is recommended to check PR of domain.

When you visit site like example.com the browser will search index file which could be index.htm or index.php. So I think URL pagerank and Domain pagerank are the same page.

The link value of an incoming link depends on the PageRank of the linking page and the number of links on that page.
In its positioning algorithm, Google uses Domain PageRank and URL PageRank but Domain PageRank matters more. This explains why pages on Wikipedia tend to rank well. The domain has a HomePage PageRank 8.

If two equal quality webpages for a keywords are on domains with HomePage PageRank 4, the one with the higher webpage PageRank will have a higher position on the Google results pages.

Also keep in mind that PageRank as we see it is in integer format whereas Google has the decimal places. Furthermore, the PageRank information given to the public is at least a few months out of date.

    Hope this helps

If you are buying a domain for its links that create pagerank then you are concerned with the URL pointing at pages. Domain pagerank is just looking at the index page. Many great buys have internal pages with good PR so if you set those up after purchase you can get the benefit of that.

So the accurate answer is both.
