      it's so short question that actually really long answer needed.
      However, here my short answer:
      Providing valuable content is the first consideration, combine with keyword optimization inside, heading structure, etc (on-page SEO) and then continue with OFF-page campaign
  • Low competition + quality content + proper on-page SEO + quality links.

    Submit articles with your website link to article directories.This method will give alot of backlinks and traffic. Sponsor or buy custom wordpress themes and give them away for free. Submit them to wordpress themes directories, you will have a link in footer of every blog that uses that theme.

  • Ranking of a site depends on both onsite and offsite SEO. So you should careful about both.
  • Write quality content. Make a better keyword research. Build quality link. And you will get high rank in search engine.

  • Different answers above proved that there are so many different ways on how you can rank #1 on Google. But mostly, it all comes down to Mike Anthony's answer: get good high authority links.

    I rank websites using the most variety of links. Social, Directories, Web 2.0, Authority links, Edu&Gov etc.

    Your site has to look like it gets linked from many sites. The highest PR they have the better.

    For me it works simple as that.
