Is this good guys? My SEO guy has me on page 3 for my most searched keyword ( carpet cleaning Los Angeles ) in 3 weeks. He says it may take up to 6 months for top 3 position. Many thousands search this every month so he says once there I will be swamped!

Using social signals, I go from nowhere to page >3 of google EVERY time (Low - Mid competition) when I use #1 Rated Retweet Service | Buy Retweets - Twitter Backlinks = Search Rank Gains

My site is around 1 month old now and I've been using that as my only backlinks (naked urls) and I'm on page 1 of google. Eventually I'll need more quality links and more diverse anchor text but for now, I'm fine!

Depends on how much competition is there for that particular keyword. Are you getting more traffic than before?

IMO, if the competition is to stiff, I always back out and find another niche with less competition and less searches. It's easier to rank and its much cheaper

Yup !! Your SEO guy is on the right path.

And another option. Why can't your SEO guy work on some keywords with high competition and low search.

So that you can get some good SERP position and get some business too.

That is fine for internet marketers. Real businesses cannot do that though. They have to get themselves ranked where there customers are looking for them.

Actually, it only gets 2400 exact searches a month. You are looking at broad searches, which is useless.

I'm not sure what you were expecting in just 3 weeks. If you are not already in Google Places, it takes about 3 weeks just to get verified in there. Bing Local takes a couple of weeks, so do a lot of the other local business directories.

Yeah, I would say you are doing fine.

    Doing just fine.

However, I'd consider removing your niche / keywords from your post. Unfortunately there's plenty of people that love to lurk around here (and @ other IM forums) and steal niche's. You don't really want to open yourself up to more competition.

Though others have quoted your post, so you may be out of luck.

Your selected niche is a very competitive one and getting position in page three in three weeks is certainly a good progress. Keep going. Choosing a competitive keyword gives better fruit if you can give effort to bring that in 1st page. Seems you are in the way.
