Linkwheel Confusion

I've been researching linkwheels and keep running into conflicting information. The only two things that I now believe are certainties are that you should always use unique content and never complete the circle.

Creating the horseshoe type linkwheel seems pretty straight forward but some warn that the only right way to go is random linking which to me seems a little complicated. I want to do this correctly right from the start so any advice would be appreciated.

    • Avoid private blog network which have a name. Links from private blog network will help you to get penalty.
