I bought a URL recently, but when I ran stats through Market Samurai, it showed the domain age is 2 years old? Is this a common problem?

    You mean the domain name?

Somebody probably had it before you. I once bought a 1 year old domain.

I'd look into it and make sure it hasn't been flagged by Google.

Thanks - how do I check it hasn't been flagged? I put the site live a few weeks ago, but it hasn't been indexed for my keywords, which is unusual based on my previous sites.

It is probably been registered previously and someone has let it expire?

This can actually work to your advantage as "old", previously used Domain Names may have batter initial SEO ratings (i.e. it may come with already established link profile)

Having said that, you should also check for negative SEO related issues (i.e. blacklisted Domain).

I would start by checking backlinks...
