Hello

I want to ask a question for expert affiliates

If you have a site ranked #1 on google - Which is better to monetize traffic
build a list or direct them directly to affiliate offers through your website ?

Thanks In advance

I'm not a expert, and I may be wrong but I would do both of those things

Put your "mailing list subscription" on all your pages, ( or use a pop up script)
And also drive them to your products

Watch out for something - If you are selling something , try not to distract the visitors
    with other things. ex: adsense

It makes more sense to build a list. Making money off "cold leads" is much harder.

It depends on your target market. For example, I don't build a list for my product reviews sites because people are interested in the review itself, not further info. But depending on the market, I also build a list, too, especially, if that market is motivational for me.

        Do both..

Sell the product hard on the landing page, give additional pages for any info they need, be as sincre as you can and they might recognise this, they need all of the information (truth) in order to make the right decision.. preferably reviews from other purchasers.

Give an exit pop up for an offer they can't refuse, make it close to your original offer, give away much of the information in the FREE offer, but leave them unsatisfied with the level of information they have aquiried. Tell them there is so much more if they purchase and actually give them more..

You need to tell people the incentives for completing the action, if you don't then they just won't be interested, make sure you use an astounding template to deliver your message, both beautiful and convincing to their needs... it needs to be 110% quality.

If it was me i would not mind to continue my efforts. Marketing is an ongoing method like you are running bicycle to win the race.

    Why not just do both

Now how aggressive you are with it depends totally on the niche.

Say I had a website about World Of Warcraft Bots I would be extremely aggressive having an opt in on every page and reminding them of the benefits of my opt in

But if it was a website that reviewed say power tools I'd have one opt in on the home page. "Subscribe to get the latest updates and info on drills," and that's probably all I'd have on the entire website.

Ideally, both; but building a list and mailing takes more work. I am lazy and build sites, rank them and let the passive income roll in.
