Hi experts, lately we've been hit here and there by the two algo updates, some have recovered and some (like me) are getting by...My sites are not fully affected but I noticed that those with affiliate links on the homepage (clickbank, amazon) have been hit badly.

Question:

How many Affiliate link can be displayed on the homepage?
Can I move most affiliate links on the inside pages?

Thanks a lot for your time

I own a bunch of Amazon review sites and have had very few problems so I don't think your issue is the affiliate links. However, my strategy revolves around ranking each individual product review so I don't even care if my home page ranks.

Hi, do you use nofollow for your affiliate links?

Yes, I typically no-follow my affiliate links on my own Amazon review sites.

I was afraid of this also when I first added in affiliate links to my site. There are a few ways around it.

    1. Use a wordpress plugin that redirects your affiliate links. I am using GoCodes and it is really great. My affiliate links, when clicked, go to www,site,com/go/xxxxxx, and then it redirects to the affiliate link from there.
It also gives you the option to no-follow these links which is great.

    2. Use a separate landing page on your site for each affiliate link. Have the affiliate link, but make it go to a clean, simple landing page that people can click through from there. This removes all affiliate links from the page you are ranking for and puts them in the separate page on your site.

Redirect + Nofollow affiliate links is the best you can do. Works for me.
