I was hit by Panda. Is a new site a good solution?

You need to change your SEO strategies and have to think outside of the box to take over panda, penguin dude.

I always say that the ROI (return on investment) is rarely in favor of trying to break out of penalties. Your time and money is usually much better spent starting from scratch. Although with all things it depends, but thats what I've found works best for me and my business. I'll do a good once over and fix up any major issues I can see with the site and then move on. Many times the site will come back out of nowhere and if it does now I have 2 sites doing well in the same niche. If not I didn't sit and waste time trying to bring it back from the dead.

Doing 301 redirect your old site will help you climb the SERP quickly compare to just building on a new domain! If in any doubt PM me for details.

Personally, I would start back from scratch. Nowadays, you don't need that many backlinks to rank anymore anyway.
The thing that sucks with redirects is that they can carry any penalty that existed for the old site to the new one.

Creating new site is not a solution just try to get some good quality high pr backlink for you site

Check to see if your whole site was penalized or just a page

I've been able to successfully rank new pages when a different one was penalized... Not sure how often that happens.

If that doesn't work then you have no choice but to start over (unless you don't mind waiting the penalty out the average one is six months)

Here are some things to look at : panda updates every 4-6 weeks not 6 months, You might want to try and save your site first as was stated in a webinar I attended, there is a course (Panda Breakthrough)with updates for a year included so even tho it's $497 you will be ontop of all updates and info on panda and they give you a site review and some other things.
It's by Eric Lancheres heres what he gave in the webinar: Full Sites are now being scored not just individual pages. Your quality score includes static elements such as having a Contact page, PPpage, about us page, page layout, a visitors time on site, fast loading- you want less than 4 seconds and dynamic navigaiton.
Dynamic navigation changes with the page topic, an example is youtube- related videos on the right changes with chosen category. Shows related posts- categorize your articles (Static navigation is ok for header and footer)
Look at your titles, H1,H2 (headlines) article or page title or post titles. Repeated Kw's are no longer good. It is better to use 3-4 similar and varied kw's per page and undo bold and italics.(over optimization)
Vary anchor text kw's- pick about 10-15kw's and everytime you create a backlink use a different one from your list. Don't undo or mess with old BL's just start created new backlinks this way.
Use page interlinking within your content, it keeps people on your site longer and it looks natural. suggest other related pages within your page -Example is wikipedia, not like ezinearticles (resourse box link)
Write on topics vs. just keywords (use a mix of kw articles and topic articles or content) example titles: kw title- "How to cook Prime Rib" better is a topic article-"Cooking the best Prime rib I ever had." It was said that long tail kw's are a bad user experience (they come for that one recipe and leave) and they penalize you with less traffic. so cover topics- example site is -food dot com site see their tab labels
Resize any large images smaller (he didn't give a size, just not large)
So try to change as much of these things as you can and wait about 3 months before you go start a new site with a redirect. I know this guy specializes in recovering sites so it's just knowing what to do. I am sure there is more as he has a whole course on it, but try this and see if it makes a difference or buy the course if you think it would be worth it.

Recovering from the penguin update really isn't that hard. Try building quality backlinks with diverse anchor text. Example "click here, check this out, your website url, click for more information"

I too have been hit by Penguin am building quality links but no movement. I wish I had chosen to go with a new domain. Any ideas on when the new update is on its way?

I was recently hit hard by a penguin panda update in fact a few of my sites got deindexed completely but I have made a full recovery :-)

Dont waste money on a new domain just yet :-) see if you can solve the problems first :-)

Hi Guys , i had 2 sites penalized, " unnatural links detected ". Nothing helps yet. Sites still have some very small traffic from google images. I will keep them til unnatural links will fall off naturally ! I started a new site and it was a very right move . Don't redirect penalized domain to another domain or you will get penalty transferred.

Google penguin can be fixed. I was a victim of Google penguin but now all my sites are back. A lot of people doesn't know that its possible to recover penguin hit site but it is possible. Through a special script I created, I recovered all my sites plus that of clients.
