Amazon money site - ranked in 3 DAYS!

Hey WF!

So I created an Amazon product review site on July 6th. Today it's indexed and ranked at 9th position on Google. This is a high priced physical product that gets 1500 EXACT searches a month.

And best of all I've done it with ZERO backlinks!! No Social Bookmarks, no YouTube video, no Press Releases.

Who said on-page SEO is dead??? Don't be lured into the trap that backlinking is all you need. Content is always gonna be king

Good job! I've been making consistent bank off this exact strategy. Of course, I put my own twist on things but the general idea is solid.

Agreed that content will always be king and that on-site optimization is very important. I've had similar experiences and those websites that I took the time to ensure it was completely on-site optimized..ROCKED the search engines

    Good job OP!

Great job. Would be curious to see it so I could learn. But obviously, you might not want to declare your niche Congrats.

    I still ask some questions

Did you use a cms or html template ?

Is it your domain or inner page ranking ?

I have a few domains for amazon products but im not sure how to develop them for max success.

      1) I target high priced items on Amazon. I don't understand why people don't do this more often. Most of the time these are electronic devices. If these products weren't selling then Amazon wouldn't be stocking them! You don't need to re-invent the wheel. Just give the people what they want.

      2) I use EMD so my site is "www.productnamereview.com". It gets around 1500 EXACT matches a month.

      3) I only use WordPress. It's free, easy to use and Google loves it.

      Hope that helps!

If u are infringing on trademarks, you are headed for trouble. I have very good results and no EMD is necessary.

I'd agree with that to play it safe as that's how I am but there is an attorney on WF who gives insight into whether it's wise or not. I don't think you are an attorney, and I am not either, but this lawyer gives some really great information which surprised me:

          http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5007597

Basically it seems like, based on actual cases, if you have a site with tons of great review information, etc. it might actually be ok to use the product name in your domain. It's not against the law to use someone's trademark in your domain. It's all in how you actually use it. That's where the rubber meets the road. And you better make sure your site is really awesome if you are going to use a trademarked name. But go to that link, I'm not the lawyer here...

I personally don't think WP templates are important. As long as it's clean and readable you should be fine.

You need to think like the customer when building Amazon sites. Ask yourself this. If you were a customer looking to buy 'product x' would you click on the link on your website based on the information you were presented with?

What is the keyword density for your keyword?
Did you include your keyword in the h1, h2 and h3 tags?
How many LSI keywords did you use in your post?

Forget about keyword density. It's not important any more. Same goes to your H1, H2 or H3 tags.

LSIs are very important and I stuff as many as I can. Google expect to see related keywords in your blog so I say what the hell? Let's shove them down their throat!

It appears he is taking advantage of EMD for trademarked terms. While the strategy can work, it almost always ends badly.

So do you reckon if he put the exact same post up on a squidoo lens, it wouldn't be on page 1 with no backlinks?

I thought Google reduced the weight of emd's now in their recent updates?

Not sure where you got this from. I'm about to beat a wiki site #1 that similarly ranks for the keyword I'm ranking for #5. I have like 1 backlink and a few status updates...

        Yup....

I have quite a few EMD sites but most use a model number which is less risk. I know it's against Amazon TOS but why do they approve EMD money sites. I'm told this is a manual process?

It doesn't matter why they approve them. You are inviting all kinds of problems, the least of which is amazon. Plus, you are more likely to hear about it come payout time.

What do you suggest? "www.mysitename.com/productnamereview"? You can't trademark sub-domains right?

To me it's pure common sense. It is trademark infringement but think of it like this. Why would a manufacturer sue me or my review site? I am driving traffic and selling THEIR product for them through Amazon. Everyone's a winner in my eyes.

If the review is positive and I'm giving them a glowing reference then I would doubt any type of legal action. They can't sue for defamation or wrongful damage. Worst case scenario it's a cease and desist notice but I can live with that.

They would sue you because they are REQUIRED to protect their trademark or they risk losing it. That is how the law works. It has nothing to do with defamation or anything.

Legal stuff notwithstanding, trademark infringement is against Amazon TOS anyway.

I can see this thread has gone off on a tangent. The point was to show peeps that aggresive backlinking isn't required to rank websites.

I will test with ranking a sub-domain next. Can't see any problems.

I agree but you need to realize that newbies come in and see this stuff and then go out and do it themselves. They then wind up back on the forum wondering why their accounts got banned.

I can already say without doubt that the strategy works without EMD because it's the strategy that I use.

EMD's do work, like wolf I don't use them I'm here for the long game... with Googles latest algo changes, they seem to still rank well. Good content seems to be a waste of time as well. A site that I am trying to rank for with ten or so good pages of content is currently being outranked by a EMD that is a one page site with the default hello world WP post as it's only content.
For all Google's posturing their search engine is a complete mess at the moment over two months after the penguin update.

    Hi,

    great post smodha!

    I must ask this here again,please forgive me for that;
I live in europe, many european said to me, that I must have top notch written product reviews to sell high amazon ticket items.
They say this for adsense sites too-"simple written content youz dont make good many money with adsense" andso on unbelievaible is that.

They mean, I must hire an very good writer who will cost more than 5$ per 100 word to have a good written product review that makes sells-that convert.

Is that true? Or what is the best strategy to find a writer who writes product reviews unique written for a good price that convert?

Or does a 15$ per 100 word product review converts better than a 5$ per 100 word review?

What is best method to find a writer that writes convert reviews for a reasonable price?

If you promote big ticket items then obviously you will get less conversions but more cash. Some of the products that I promote cost between $1500-$2000 on Amazon and in my experience these are the perfect candidates for review sites because the customer is deadly serious on purchasing the product. He/she just needs you to make up their mind for them and a comprehensive review will do that.

    Hi,

    smodha, thanks for your answer.

High ticket items have lower comnversions, lower than 2-5% ???

And this is one thing I must test; buy content, test and see. Does a good filipino writer who costs 1$ per 1oo words, does this content convert with high ticket items?

Or I must test a writer who costs 3$ per 100 words and a writer who costs 5$ per 100 word to see the results of them. All of them, the filipino writes good reviews, I will see does they convert or not. I have no another test method.Nobody has an answer on that.

When I need for good conversion rates 300-400 words of content so I can build bigger sites, when I need 800-1000 words of content I can build small mini sites with 3-5 pages,to my budget.
There are Marketer Guru's here who says; You can make 1000's of Dollars only with a single page, I think they promote high ticket items only on one page-but does google not kick out such sites?

I think promote amazon,or affiliate products is a better business than adsense, with such affiliate sites I need no google analytics and so on.

    best wishes
