Should it take 6months or more to get ranked organically for what is a extremely competitive keyword in my industry? Possibly the most competitive as far as a local keyword gets in our country in my industry.

    No one, and I mean NO ONE, can answer the question precisely.

    If your site is ranked on top of page 2, I suppose it will take less than 6 months. If your site is nowhere to be found, God knows how long it'll take you to get to page 1.

    Judging by the industry and city, I suppose , it's a pretty competitive keyword, with a lot of google place listings. But I honestly think that keyword is VERY achievable.

    I grabbed that using SEOMOZ. It means nothing to me without Market Samurai + ibacklinkpro though in which I can correctly analyze all your competition's type of backlinks, anchors, and quality.

    There were 5 fairly weak sites in the 1st page of SERPS according to SEOMOZ meaning the sites were either 'new' or did not have a strong foundation in backlinks.

    44% is pretty low for the tool...but there are a LOT of sites competing for that word.

    I also check content for a few EMDS and I didn't find anything over 300+ words in a skimming which is good.

    It depends on your link building strategy. If you implement the effective and efficient link building strategy I am sure you will rank high with in 2 or 3 months.

    It may take less, it may take longer, it may never happen.

    You are better off doing google maps, but even then
    you are in a densely populated area that has a plethora
    of carpet cleaners. The big name brands would practically
    rule.

    I'd make sure my ad was in the yellow pages, or do
    local print/radio advertising. Even TV.

    For most people searching for your topic, local maps
    would be the big winners. Nobody would ever scroll
    down for search results. Too many paid ads and
    google places.

    Back of the napkin analysis....it's going to take longer than 6 months if you want to do it right.

    I see 3 organic results and then maps. The top result is very strong backlink wise and the second result is an exact match .com

    Honest truth: that would take a few years and $10K's OR hundreds of hours of your own time.

    I could be wrong, but that's the honest estimate I'd tell my grandma.
