i have read from many resources that, Google now penalize the over optimized websites. If i do daily 30 backlinks for my site and after all build 4000 backlinks in around 6 months, will my site penalize by google? will 4000 social bookmarking affect to improve my site in Google search?

  • Over optimisation for backlinks, refers to unnatural links. If your 4000 backlinks in 6 months are not diversifed including the exact match to your domain, google will probably suspect your are link building aggresivly, and this will look inorganic.

    • I guess Key to not get "caught" is:

      -diversify anchor text the most you can

      -You can use your raw URL as anchor text

      -Dont leave links to your site on poor quality sites/directories

      -Watchout for sites who leaves "top commentators" in some column and have it on all their pages - If on your comment you leave a keyword - this can become a problem

      -Dont exagerate OR it will look unnatural.
  • Google Prefer natural linking but a process is bit slow that's many webmasters head for paid linking in order to boast their search engine ranking but the faster they go up the faster they came down
  • As everyone mentioned, link diversity is very important nowdays.

    Social Bookmark links

    Just keep on rotating them evenly. Try to make the process look as natural as possible.

  • Are you referring to your food orders website?

    If so, I see a total of 296 backlinks to your site with 225 of them being for the same phrase (which incedentally looks like a sitewide link)

    Keep heading in this direction and yes, you're going to be in trouble

  • It completely depends on the quality, type, and repetition of the backlinks you are going to create.

    To answer your question, it could be yes, it could be no. It all depends on your approach.

    Numbers mean nothing when it comes to link building.
  • If you're using the same anchor text for all of your links than your definately going to have a problem. I never use exact anchor text more than 25-30% of the time. A year ago, it was closer to 65-70% of the time, but there is a fine line between aggressively targeting a keyword and over optimization.
  • Diversify your anchor texts also. Making them look more natural in the eyes of search engines is another good habit.
  • Over Optimization happens when your website is considered "too good" by Google - either in terms of a sudden volume of back links, or because of heavy on-page optimization. In other words, if Google considers that your website optimization is beyond acceptable limits, your website will be red-flagged and automatically restricted or penalized.
