Been working at this for two weeks - just made my first $1

The past couple of weeks I've dedicated almost entirely to building two niche sites based on a hybrid keyword research/site creation/linking strategy with aspects pulled from numerous different niche site 'gurus' around the web. It seems to finally be paying off because in the last week I made my first $1 through AdSense.

It's not much but the fact that I've been working pretty hard with a strategy that I've compiled on my own without actually following one specific guide in particular makes it significant in my eyes. I've heard that the first $5 is the hardest threshold to break so hopefully I'll be able to get over that hump in the weeks to come.

Sadly, I've realized that my first niche site is almost certainly doomed to fail. The keyword is just way too broad and the competition on Google is too heavy so it'll likely be a scratch. I could try to build it into an authority site but the subject just isn't something that I would want to be producing quality content about. It's alright though because I've definitely learned a lot from that first site and applied that knowledge to my second site which I believe has some REALLY great potential.

If everything goes as planned and I do start making a good amount of money from my strategy I'd be happy to release it as a FREE ebook to help out others. Although I am still a firm believer in an individual's success stemming from something that they've created on their own and not from following a guide. Instead, I would hope for it to act a a great resource and framework for anyone who is just starting out.
