Brad's Niche Finder Question

Quick question...
I was about done setting up a website when one of my more experienced friends told me the niche was too vague. So I bought Brad's Niche Finder and found some more specific niches that had decent search volume.
I made sure to select 'exact match' in the niche finder and it showed 8800 global searches 4400 local searches. (Keep in mind this is a dropship site so margins are higher than Adsense and require less traffic).
Because I'm new to Brad's Niche Finder, I decided to cross reference the results on the GKT. Logged in and changed settings to 'exact match' and entered my new keyword. It only showed 400 global searches!
Anyone here have experience with this and can shed some light?? Should I bother creating a site then? How can I have any faith in Brad's?
