Affiliate Landing Page SEO? Need Help

Hi again guys,

Once again thanks for all the recent input, you guys have helped me out a ton.

I have an affiliate program online where I'm selling a specific product. I signed up for the affiliate program so I'm paying a fee per month and the company gave me an affiliate site where If people sign up on my page, I get the credit.

"How do I funnel people to that page?"

It's funny how the company makes people who don't know anything about SEO and computers think that If they buy a domain from godaddy, that just because they have a landing page and its on the internet, that automatically they will get traffic.

Here's what I was thinking and the primary question:
We all know that EMD's are more powerful with SEO and that (atleast in my experience) they help your ranking for your keyword. But.. At the same time I don't want to have NIKEshoedeals.com, NABISCOdeals.com or CARNIVALCRUISEsignup.com because of the legal reasons...
But what if I put the brand or trademark name in the subdomain?
  • I'd still be getting the SEO benefit
  • It wouldnt necessarily be my problem, it would be wordpress.com's or blogger.com's
  • It would be cheaper (not costing me the yearly fee)
The biggest thing for me is avoiding the legal liabilities with the domain name.

There's gotta be more ways to promote your affiliate landing page than just telling your friends..

Thanks guys!!!

I really appreciate the help!

J

Read the Terms and Conditions of the affiliate program(s) you are promoting. There are a bunch of them that I have read that do NOT allow their trademark in a subdomain.

Legal question aside, I have a suggestion for the funnel:

If you have Wordpress, try getting the Optimize Press Theme you can set up a main landing page which will be a "squeeze" page, offer them something free that has something to do with the product you are promoting, and get them to sign up using Aweber, MailChimp, or some other autoresponder. This way you can build a list too!

When they sign up if they are interested, they will get the free gift and have them redirected to the main sales page that you want them to go to.

If you don't want to set up the autoresponder, you could just have the main squeeze page hinting at what the product can do for the user, and put one of Optimize Press' "Yes! Let Me In Now" Buttons, then redirect them like that.

Optimize Press is the best way to go if you want to "funnel" people in to your main sales page.

Awesome suggestion, thanks man. I've never use that theme before but I'd like to try it. Does it cost anything?

    Thanks
