Took my site off of my domain and got deindexed. Will it come back?

So I had a site with a decent amount of content. I got it to a pr2 but still was not making much money, so I decided to turn the whole site into a squeeze page.

But, then I just took it down all together and stopped messing with it. I realized recently it got deindexed from google. I'm not sure exactly when this happened, but I want to know if it is possible to get reindexed.

Is deindexing always a penalty for wrongdoing or was it merely because I had no content anymore? Its an EMD with 9,900 exact searches and I want to sell it, but it is pretty worthless if it cannot be ranked in Google.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Blake

P.S - I don't want to put content on the site because I want to sell the domain by itself, so it is hard to tell if it could get reindexed.

No, the primary reason why websites get de-indexed is when they sell links to other websites.

Anyhow, to recover you site. You have to clean it up first. Then submit it directly from Google webmaster tools so that it'll be reconsidered.

Obviously you got de-indexed! You can't expect those pages to remain indexed if they were removed-if I understand correctly: you took your site down?

Indexed pages will disappear, it's not like backlinks which remain.

One of my hosts went down, and so did one of my sites. The pages were still indexed by Google for a good 3-4 months before they started disappearing. I developed the domain again and slowly it is being indexed again.

Just note, the recent changes with Google, i.e. Penguin update can make it harder and take longer to rank and get indexed. I would suggest to get developing the domain again ASAP! (with unique and relevant content of-course)

    Cheers

The reason for deindexing could be penalty... but it does not mean you cannot get back to index and rankings.

I am agree with asiancasanova. If you don't want to add more content on website then better option is to clean it up and then submit your website in Google for reconsideration.Hope to get some good result through this way.
