1.Let's say you get a link from a pr 6 site through guest blogging.I's true that you can get a lot of traffic from this site but I don't understand it's benefit in terms of Seo. Because your post will not be published on the homepage but on a new page whose PR is 0. So, what's the use of guest blogging in terms of seo?

2. Some of the sites that accept guest posts do not allow you place your link in the article body but in the author bio. Is this still useful for seo?

    Yes that's right.

The benefit is that even though Pagerank isn't shown immediately on the toolbar, your article page still receives link juice, trust and authority ...all of which flows to your site.

One of my most successful guest posts is now PR5. It's long gone from the homepage, but still has links from related posts and category pages. It was published in April on a Pr6 blog and it attracted about 150 comments on the day it was published and some external links. OSE has 60+ root domains pointing to it and a Page Authority of 70+.

My point with the above, is that you should really be selective with the guest posts you're doing -- avoid putting your valuable content on blogs and pages that no one reads (or those where not enough people read).

Yes it's still useful. My only advice:

    - Don't fall into the habit of using the same bio on all your guest contributions.
    - Don't guest post about topics that have nothing to do or are not at least in some way related to the topic/subject of your site.

    1. For me, guest blogging means sharing information and driving traffic to the website. backlinks has very less to do with guest blogging.
    2. Yes, even that helps in terms of SEO

You're right in thinking that a guest post on a PR6 blog will have a far lower PR than the homepage of the blog. However, if you guest post on a high traffic blog with an engaged and responsive audience, your post there should attract links of its own - giving it SEO value. Not to mention that there will be a large, new audience of readers who may be interested in your site, product or service

I think guest blogging has lot of benefit from the point of seo as well as getting visitors. There are many sites which allow links in body of the content. Even if it doesnot allow link in body you will get new visitors that may like your content and thus you are getting good traffic from guest blogging. You content must be fresh, informative and relevant to the site. Avoid promotional content.

As for the links, I only post links in the bio. I am confident that these links have helped my ranking.

Link juice flows through the entire site. So if the homepage is a PR 6 that means all pages on the sites even new ones should have a decent amount of juice flowing through them.

A link is still a link, so wherever it is, may it be a page that has a PR of 6, or something as low as 0, it can still bring traffic to your site, and it still passes you link juice, if it's a dofollow link. No matter where it is -- may it be within the content, or in the author bio -- it's still going to be beneficial for your backlink profile.

  • Guest blogging can enhance your SEO efforts and help you get backlinks and traffic. It also helps you establish your authority online and reach a wider audience. The link from your author bio will direct readers to your site or landing page, which will increase traffic and help you build loyal readership.

    1. it doesn't matter if the post PR is 0, first it may get higher PR with the next PR update, second, PR got nothing to do with the site search ranking. PR only implies on how many links your site/page have

    2. about the bio link, I think it's less valuable but still worth something.

PS I'm against using google author tag
