Is there any programs out there that keeps tabs of how many backlinks you have on your website.

The idea is to keep an eye on them at different intervals like twice a week.
Just to see if any backlink providers are doing there jobs properly.

I've been told, people that say they will give you 300 backlinks, the links are spam and they disappear and no longer give you a backlink.

A nice wee program that keeps this in a database or something would be cool.

  • I don't know of an automated tool but you can check live links using Scrapebox. However when checking a big list you will need private proxies.

    Generally most link building people will just be producing spam and they will get deleted.

    • No real need for proxies. Proxies are more for when you are doing far too many inquiries into the same site, like Google. If you are checking 50000 different sites to see if the links are live or not, you can do it without proxies as long as the majority of them are not on the same few sites.
  • I don't know of any tools specifically designed for this purpose either, but it is relatively easy to organise backlink data in a spreadsheet.

    I'm a bit confused by what you are asking. IF it's a backlink checker use sites like Ahrefs.com, MajesticSEO.com, or even SEOmoz.
  • When looking for good backlinks it is handy to understand which backlinks are not so good. Avoiding the bad backlinks will save you a lot of time. These include things like forums, commenting on blogs, link exchanges, and pretty much all of the links you can get from the social side of the internet.
  • I don't really understand if you are looking for a tool that checks for outgoing links or a backlink checker. However, if your looking for a backlink checker i would use AHREFS or opensiteexplorer. Run a google search for both of them, those two have the biggest indexes from what i've seen
