When was the last time you did a successful SEO campaign? What did you do to achieve it?

I'm just trying to stay up-to-date with the newest "what works"

I frequently run successful SEO campaigns....

A lot of my strategy runs on PR Web Press releases, authoritative blog comments, guest posts, i sprinkle a few blogroll links in there,

And of course, amazing content, which is what will bring all the social media links.

We recently added a clients website into our blog network, which promptly moved it from 17th to 10th for the Keyword "Flights" in the UK.

    Less than 24hours.

We we're truly amazed it happened so quick - Yet still it sits on the front page for a 250k exact match search.

    :-)

That's interesting, so most of the old stuff still works, but I'm guessing "the way" the links are built has changed, right? In other words, even though we still may use scrapebox to blast 3,000 links, we rarely ever do it on our moneysite now, but we may blast our 1st tiers. And then there's anchor variation as well...

I'm curious if anyone would share their system here that is proven to work, but not just what they do but how they do it as well

    1. have a good variation in your anchor text
    2. use lots of different types of websites, web2.0, press releases, wordpress blog, article directories ...
    3. build multiple level backlinks to your backlinks to increase there value and gain link juice
    4. Ensure you do not blast links to your moneysite, the linkbuilding campaign must look as natual as possible
    5. The importance of onpage seo and social signals are much higher now so ensure you create good related content and try to get your social elements in place
    6. spend your time on keyword research, if you pick the wrong keyword then all the oher work see above is for nothing.

I always start with building lower-quality social bookmarks to start my campaign off. I like for google to think that my site is building credibility in a normal way. Most sites don't start off with amazing links. Those are built over time.

Then after creating some "buzz", I start with high pagerank link networks. These will drip feed your links over a period of time (good ones atleast). That way your credibility continues to grow in a natural way.

As those links are being rolled out I then build some Web 2.0's and build out the supporting links to those.

Most of the time that's a good enough punch to make a dent and see rankings appear.

Rank my keyword (135,000,000 results) on the 1st page of Google, Yahoo and Bing in just a week.

I fought back with PnP (Panda and Penguin) and beat the hell out of these two algorithms. That's what I did.

Is that 135,000,000 exact searches? If I search my keyword, it shows me 50,000,000 results for the keyword because it has been searched as different keywords in different phrases. If I do an exact match for my keyword, I get 7,200 results, which I am ranked #1 for.

Well...it's a secret, I have experimented that you can retain the ranking position of any website merely by blog commenting on high PR blogs, that are theme related and carries minimum number of outbound links.
