Checking Backlinks Through Search Engine

Hey guys, I asked this question in the main forum and was advised to ask the question here for better results. I did a quick search here and people were only recommending using backlink checker.

In Search Engine, how do I Check Back Links of Competing Pages?

Like there is a search engine operator right?

Like "Link:TheDomainName.com/category/page"

The trouble is the above doesnt work. I tried putting a space between "Link:" and "DomainName.com" but I am uncertain if the search results all have links pointing back to my competition url. I tried using the with and without the www. and with and without the http:// But I dont think google is showing be the correct results.

I tried Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Yahoo and Bing doesnt show any results at all.

How do I check the back links pointing to a particular page of my competition in the search engine?

  • Now there is no good way to find the total number of backlinks of your competitors. If you use the Link: operator then it can show you just a few links and that also for very popular sites.

  • Once Yahoo Site Explorer went down it's gotten a LOT harder to do backlink research. SEO Spyglass is pretty good, as is ahrefs.com. Both can be pretty pricey though.
