Hello guys!!

I recently have found a niche to involve in and I want some serious answers for my questions....

1) Can I use dashes between words in domain name?
2) I have found a long tail keyword which has 1.900 [exact] monthly searchers globally and with cpc $0.64 according to Google keyword tool and the competition according to market samurai which is here
Tell me if it is worth to make a niche website with this keyword....
Also with 1.900 exact searchers per month being in the first position in google I will have 40% of 1.900....that means that i will have 760 visitors per month for this particular keyword if of course I will be on the first position.
Is it worth guys or not ??

thank you,
zourkas

    1) Yes, I do it all the time.
    2) Yes, it is worth it. If you think you can beat the top ranking competition. Depending on the niche you can go a step further and sell amazon products that are related.

      1. yes you can uses dashes (however an EMD is just part of the recipe, not all of it, so make sure other factors are also worked in for rankings)
      2. if you are selling a high ticket item on your website that people are searching for then you can make money with VERY little traffic.

Depends on your monetization method really. For example, you would get low $ per click if you were to use adsense with $0.64 CPC.

Otherwise, 1900 searches is good for a long tail tail keyword that you think you can rank easily.

I think your main questions is can you beat the competition and make it to position 1, if that's the case then I would say go for it regardless of search volume (obviously not if the SV is super low) but if you can make it to number 1 then you can rinse and repeat.

@zourkas - I'd be interested to know how this works out for you as I'm currently thinking over a few ideas and have similar questions myself. Good luck!

I also think dashes are fine but it has been suggested not to go over 4 words for a longtail kw domain and try to keep dashes to a minimum, if you can do just one dash, do that.

Dashes are not an issue. Targeting 1900 EXACT keyword is better option.
Make sure you will have chosen some sub keywords as well and work around all the keywords which is safer (To avoid over anchor text optimisation penalty during your link building process ) and helps you to get more visitors
