Thoughts On Free Domain Hosting

Hi All,

I am in the process of setting up some tier 1 websites for backlinking purposes and I was wondering what the deal is with free hosting. Where's the catch? Has anyone been burned with this type of hosting? Does Google give less value to these domains because they are from IPs relating to free hosting servers? Sorry for all the questions and no info.

    All I would say is stay away. Not for one but many reasons. Why don't you leverage authority sites instead? Sites like Squidoo? And Wordpress?

    Free hosts are not that much reliable to start a business but you can use free hosts for testing purpose. Free hosts works awesome for this purpose.

      Regardless of whether the sites you are sharing the server with will negatively impact your tier 1 links, these types of hosts often suffer lots of downtime and are slow - two factors we know Google doesn't like.

      Your best bet is to buy some C Class IPs and host the sites yourself. Or if that isn't an option, build some Web 2.0 properties with reliable, free providers like Squidoo and Weebly.

    Free hots are most of the times just a waste of time. They are NOT reliable and in any time you can "lose" your website. I recommend going with Hostgator or any other reliable paid hosting provider!
