how can i make on page seo for my eCommerce site

just few days ago i start my own online eCommerce business.I launch a website.I read few article where most of the SEO experts give there opinion.Most of themes are try to say that after penguin update and also panda update ,on page SEO is so important.To Get 1st page on Google ,every web site has need good quality and also unique content.
Most of SEO experts are say that every content must have at least 300 word.

But my question is that my website is product selling website.In here really very difficult to write 300 article for every product details.
so can i maintain my on page SEO?
and also i want to know ,suppose i write a product details which carry 100 word.
That means my article has 100 word which is not google friendly.Now if few customer write their review about that product after buying .which may be carry 200-300 word.
Now in that time google is count my article as 100 word or 300-400 word?

i expect lot of comment from all SEO expert.

    It's your site and you can have 50words content, the issue is that I might not get the word across. But if you are putting it on somebody's site they call the shot.

    Well if you intend adding reviews from clients to your content definitely your content word will count but if you leave the review in the comment box it won't.

      That means if i create my site using wordpress ,i need to review writing Plugin.I am not able to use wordpress builting comment box .

    The content should describe your product, review your product and give your customers something that lets them know about your product. Just think how you'd describe a product to someone who walked into your shop. Why would they want to buy it from you?

    I have a background in e-commerce seo, most e-commerce sites suffer from similar problems.

    The usual suspect is duplicate content from product descriptions as people use the manufactuers default description. These should be completly unique.

    You usually get issues with duplicate content throughout the site as well, for example you might be able to access the exact same product through 2 different urls. Integrate canonical to fix this.

    Make sure your category pages each have a decent amount of textual based content

    Make sure your homepage has some decent content

    Don't just publish products, try and publish a blog that is helpful and supportive of the niche your e-commerce store is in. For example if your selling gardening tools, have some posts with some gardening tips etc

    If you just do those few things, your site will be better positioned than most e-commerce sites I come across.

      You should write unique descriptions for each product. Customer reviews are useful too. Do proper keyword research and include low competition terms in your content. Use the ALT attribute for your pictures. Remove any graphic elements that you don't really need. Interlink your pages and use widgets and plugins that show related posts, popular products, etc.
