Hi Guys, I'm new to this great community and I want to make a contribution of a great way to get free social signals (facebook, twitter, G+) and a lot of traffic. First before I start - If you have any morale problems - stop reading! I started a new blog/site for a small niche site and optimized it with a professional design, header and whole layout. To get some social signals and a big amount of traffic I started a sweepstake with a technical price (ipod, ipad, iphone, and so on) - you could also choose a prize suitable to your niche topic. The visitors have to take some action to get points for a lottery. For example the will get 20 points for a article with a backlink to the sweepstake article, or 5 points for a facebook share, tweet or a post on google plus..... At the end of the sweepstake you have to give the price to a imaginary friend ;-) You will have to mention random[dot]org as the selection procedure of the winner or something like this. I tested this method and got great results with a big plus of traffic and improving rankings in google. Feel free to ask me for further details if necessary

Hi Wade, I just provided this tutorial so be creative and start your own sweepstake if you need some social signals to push your site forward in the SERPS ;-) I had great results with small niche sites monetized with AM and AdSense.

@supertintin1 Sorry, was my explanation so unclear? It is all about starting a sweepstake with a imaginary prize to win. You use this people you like to take part in sweepstakes to get social signals in form of tweets, fb shares to improve the ranking of your site. I added some pictures of Google Analytics and rankings for my main keyword. The peak of visitors is about 300, but it is a small niche ;-) h++p://postimage.org/image/w9yjxfvh1/ h++p://postimage.org/image/gr1kjn6mr/ Can't post images/links due the fact i have to less posts :-)

Ok this method is unethical. You are asking visitors to link to your website via external backlinks or Facebook Likes, Tweets etc in exchange for points in a "prize draw". Once you are happy with your rise in SERPs you announce that somebody called "Billy Bob" (doesn't exist) has won the price draw.

Ultimately this method is doomed because all you are doing is introducing more crappy content onto the Internet which means future Google updates to remove these type of sites.

I actually incentivise my buyers where every purchase through my aff link is emailed back to me (Clickbank ID). After a few weeks I will do a real prize draw (with all the unique Clickbank IDs) where first prize wins an iPad. And to sweeten the deal I will ship it anywhere in the world.

There is nothing wrong with incentives. You just have to be genuine...

I warned you because it is unethical, but you should also know that there is no excat definition of what is ethical ;-) Everybody sees the world different, the perception is not the reality ;-)

I don't provide crappy content, I just have no money to spend for a big unnatural blast of social signals that will kick my site into the google sandbox :-)

Many affiliate networks or programs don't like to see a promotion with incentivises. In my opinion clickbank just provides tons of crappy products. But I totally respect your opinion and I would be happy to have that finicial situation to give away a real price.

I admire your hard-work and innovation but in this business I feel that reputation is everything. If people don't trust you then they won't buy from you.

And I normally only use incentives for "Make Money Online" products as Clickbank competition is pretty fierce. Most of the products I promote sell themselves anyway because they're great.
