Few days ago I just tried to comment on other blogs, use my own personal site in the URL field. I don't know why my comment never show up even with some alert like "your coment is waiting moderation blah blah"

Then I try to use other website in that URL field, and it's show my comment is waiting a moderations.
In the end, I used URL shortness to short my personal site URL, and it's work for comment. It's get published after few minutes.

My question, is it still count as a backlinks for my site (www. mysite[dot]com) instead of www. URL[dot]gl ?

  • Now that's something unusual! Try using HTTP before your domain and it should work. Let me know if it doesn't.

    Hope that helps. Thanks

And my question is My question, is it still count as a backlinks for my site (www. mysite[dot]com) instead of www. URL[dot]gl that redirect to my website?

    • Hi There,
      Many thanks for the link!
      Will check it soon!
  • Always give the http when asked for your URL
  • these url shorteners pass equal amount of link juice to your original website , it is the same thing if you are using your own website link there or shortening the url and then placing the link, in both cases you will get the equal link juice for your website and it will be counted as backlink.
even you can check it on webmaster tools for your website , there you will find a backlink to your website from the page you have posted a shortened url of your website.
    hope that helps,

  • In my opinion yes, although not as good as your direct url
  • Yes, it will be counted as a backlink. Blog Comment approval is entirely depends on the quality of your comment and the webmaster of the blog.
  • Use with http with your url always. Better you don't give your direct url. Use Google url shortner or bit.ly to shortner your url.

  • Well URL shortening is similar to URL cloaking - something that we do to our affiliate links. Therefore, Google considers the destination site. But just to make things distanced from complications - why not use the links directly, with 'http://'.

One more thing - if your comments are being directed towards spam, it is probably the AKISMET plugin that is being used by site owners. I'm not very sure, but AKISMET blocks several sites. In such cases, you can contact AKISMET and inquire about the same. They usually unblock sites upon request.

PS - I've heard such cases (the AKISMET thing).
