Ha. Nice.

Looks like you're doing a good job at taking advantage of all of the different Google "features" that you can rank for. I tend to do this sometimes with videos in addition to pages. But never images.

Yea, Google thumbnail images are awesome to rank, just have to make sure that people are interested in what the image presents & not the actual image itself, also have to break the Google Image frame to move the traffic directly from Google Text search (thumbnail image) to your web page.

Something else I do to try & boost Google thumbnail image CTR is to not have a white background on the thumbnail image so it sticks out like a sore thumb on the Google SERPs, lol, you can't miss the thumbnail images.

All relevant internal links/keywords in the last week, also image optimization & building internal keyword rich anchor-text links pointing at images hosted on my site.
Standard alt-text & surrounding the images with relevant plain text keywords.
Updating old post with new text/keywords/links.

Competition is in the hobby niche.

Competition i mean low-mid-high, cause you obtained 8 postitoning for 1 keyword so i assume its low competition.. ? sry for typos on the road

Med. competition keyword.

On the images, I think dominating all 5 positions could be pulled off for a lot of high comp. keywords. I think a lot of people are scared to rank images because they think the traffic will land on the Google Image frame page, which the frame can be broken & traffic never knows any different.

Triple SERPs can be done on just about any comp. keyword as long as the first page doesn't already have existing triple SERPs for the comp., even then it just depends on how bad someone wants to rank for the keyword.

The good thing about double/triple SERP listings is, it throws off new competition, a lot of people don't want to deal with established comp. ranking multiple pages per keyword, they'll move along to easier keywords.

Personally, No I don't build very many external links. I see new external links pop up from my traffic building links (niche forums, blogs, etc...) but I haven't built many external links in a while (maybe close to a year) for this specific site.

One thing about my sites, I would be surprised to find an external link that wasn't on a relevant sites page (entire site in same niche, not just the backlink page).

Last night I was looking at one of my oldest blogs that I don't mess with anymore & noticed a lot of pages with half way decent PR1-4 pages, around 50 pages total. I will be taking advantage of those links in the near future, I just need to do more keyword research & figure out the best use for those 50 or so external links.

I'm not saying external links aren't important (they are important) & I do have plenty of existing external links, but once the main keyword is ranked, it's a lot easier (most times) to rank new relevant keywords using the authority built up from the main keyword pages. It's like a snowball effect.

Example, main keyword already ranked = woodworking projects.

Example, new keywords:

woodworking tools
woodworking ideas
free woodworking plans
woodworking plans
woodworking supplies
woodworking shows

Once that first keyword is ranked (external links) you can consider the rest of that keyword list as already being half way ranked. Build out the pages + supporting pages & internal links.

BTW, this isn't some micro site built over a weekend, the site is around 5-6 years old & around 1,000 pages of unique content.

I`m using Your tips to rank images by pointing keyword internal rich anchor text link and after couple months I see that my pictures are no1, but still I have them in frame after click in serps

Put this javascript code in between the <head> tags, this is what I use to break the Google Image frame.

After you add the code go click on your ranked image (in Google), it should break the frame as soon as you click the image in the SERPs & make you land on your web page.

I've been running this frame breaker code on my Adsense sites for around 1.5 years, all it does is break a frame just like If someone (anyone) tries to frame your web page (totally white hat) ask anyone else that knows what their talking about, it's not a big deal.

Did Google display image results before you worked on ranking your own images? I'm in a niche where images would add some value but they don't display on page 1, so I wonder if I should bother.

  All I can suggest is build more keyword anchor-text links pointing directly at the image URL, example:

Google did show images from other websites (not mine) before I started on this batch of new keywords in OP.

I do have an older keyword that I've been trying to get Google to display thumbnail images for but haven't had that image rank yet, I'm ranking a regular webpage just not thumbnail image in Google text search for that one image. That one keyword doesn't have anyone ranking thumbnail images in text search.

Just like ranking anything in the SERPs, sometimes keywords are just stubborn & take more work.

That is an excellent point and hopefully people will realize that this is the cornerstone of the success of the method, and not just putting some int. links here and there and sitting with their thumbs up their rear ends, waiting for a wonder.

This is very cool, Yukon and something that I am now working on doing.

I never really considered ranking multiple pages until a few months ago when you mentioned it in another thread somewhere. I always felt, Yes page 1, i'm done.

But now, I have 3 pages on positions 1-3 for one of my keywords and my traffic is pretty much dependent on that post now.

Hey Yukon, sorry for sounding like a noob here but when you say break the google image frame,do you mean when someone clicks on a image through google rather than them seeing the image with your website in the background, it just loads up the page that the image is on?
If so which part of wordpress should I be adding that code?

Since your running Wordpress, first backup your Wordpress theme, then add the code between the <head> tags inside the header.php file, like this:

<head>
(existing head code here)

(image frame breaker javascript code here)
</head>
