Article Marketing For Serps?

Hi all, been experimenting a bit with backlinks and it would be great to get your thoughts on this:
Are any of you using article marketing to get results in the serps, for your own site that is, not for the article as such. Most of the articles won´t get any page rank after you published them I guess (at least that´s the case with some old stuff of mine), but can they still be of benefit for your own ranking?
Do you have any dofollow favourite sites, besides Ezine Articles?
Are you seeing better results of you link in the content than just in the sig? Is that something to focus on?

Would appretiate any feedback.

    There aree a lot of lists of dofollow blogs and social boorking sites online...
  • Whether article marketing works or not depends on how you go about it.

    1. Select article directories that have good pagerank, and provide dofollow links
    2. Write highly informative articles that are likely to be picked up by on-line publications
    3. Use keywords in the link text in your sig file
    4. Above all, continue adding articles on a regular basis; results take time

    Links in the body might not be permitted. Check the directory rules.

  • Doing seo is not that easy. Quality should be maintain in making an Article because it is the key to success. Therefore, big chances that you'll be a topnotch.

    • Gopinathan T, sorry if my answer sounded rude. You are very right and your answer is informative. Let me express myself clearer: I am doing some social bookmarking for backlinks at the moment (as one of several methods, been doing it before but developed a new way of using social sites) and noticed an quite immediate change in the serps for my site (there was a great discussion about it here, will come back to you all on that one). I used to do article marketing, but decided that my writings would do more use on my blog. Well, I now just started to think that I might give article writing a shot again and just wanted to know your experiences with it, when it comes to google rankings for keywords on your own site.

      Jenie0109, I´m sorry if I offended you somehow, that was not my attempt. I have done this for a while and I´m starting to do fairly well, at least so I can make a living nowadays. I know I will probably never be topnotch, but I´m trying my best and I´m working har do learn everything I can.

    ...and the thing is, if your article is not unique and cannot catch attention, no one will visit your site that is linked at the bottom of your article... they don't even finish reading it..

    There's a separate thread outlining the specific steps for article marketing - Article Marketing 101 -... where the author offers to pay you $100 if you follow the steps and you don't get the promised results.
  • I think you are neglecting one important link source, forum posts. I can't see any link to your blog or website here. Many forums permit dofollow links, and the high PR of the forums can make the links worthwhile.

    1. EZA
    2. Web 20 sites (squidoo,...)
    3. Other article sites
    4. Every where you can

    5. Submit 'rewritten' version of your articles from time to time as well.

    6. Submit videos as well.

    7. Submit on your blog.

    8. Submit your articles as mini posts in forum in your niche

    With this, you will get a serious boost in the serps.
