How do i make a inner page that is targeting the same keywords as the main domain

Is it a case of building alot of backlinks to the inner page?

    1. Proper on-page SEO.

    2. Quality backlinks.

    Go for quality over quantity when it comes to backlinks. At least when pointed directly at your pages.

      I have numerous examples of pages in my sites that rank higher than homepage. A simple search on Google is enough for you to see that it is no only possible, it happens all the time.

        Fill that page with quality content and build lots of relevant links. Add keywords in titles, headings, meta description, and text. Add plugins that show related posts, popular products, etc in order to improve the internal linking structure.
