What is the maximum number of adsense sites you should have to avoid being penalized?

How many adsense sites is the maximum that it is advisable to have? Google can easily see all your adsense sites by your code. Do you think you would be penalized if you had too many as you could be seen to be setting up low quality, dupe content sites?

I am thinking 30 is the maximum to aim for to avoid getting any red flags. What do you think would you advocate a maximum number or not? If you have more than 30 is it more likely you will be thought of as low quality?

Google will not penalise you for having too many sites. They will penalise you and ban your accounts if you break their rules.

Thanks for replies guys. How can we tell that google has not taken into consideration that someone has say 100 sites. We cannot be sure that if those sites were from separate adsense accounts accounts and IP addresses they may well have been ranked higher?

They may not ban someone with 100 sites but they may not look on the sites as favourably and it be harder for them to rank well. Of course there is no proof of this.

Sorry man, but we can't prove a negative. If you think it's a problem, show US some evidence of there being a problem. Otherwise chill, drink a beer and get back to work.
