5,400 exact searches. There's yahoo answers on n.1, a blogspot blog on n.2, a wordpress blog on n.3, and another blogspot blog on n.6 the top 2 have plenty of backlinks on them, but there are no EMDs around...

golden keyword?

Stupid answer, but it depends on the competition. Looks like you found a pretty good keyword. Equally important is whether or not you can do something with the keyword. Will it attract buyers, people who need help etc.

Sounds like a rankable keyword though.

Remember that the hardest part of SEO is not to reach to the first spot
in SERP but to reach to the first spot in SERP for all countries and cities.

Even if you reach the first spot in all countries and cities to get all that 5400
visitors per month, you will get 40% of that 5400 visitors per month i.e
approximately 70 visitors per day (in case you reach to the first spot in
    all countries and cities)

And also remember that if the selected keyword is competitve (like SEO or
Web Design, Internet Marketing and ...) usually half of the arrived
visitors are also your competitors and not the real targeted visitors.

It might be a good keyword to go after, but don't just check the number of backlinks.

Always make sure to also check what backlinks they are - especially check their PR.

it might be a good keyword to rank for, but there are few points to notice like the compitition and the CPC as if with low cpc there is no profit of ranking for such keyword..

I'm using prchecker but when checking out the PR do I enter the whole url? (www.nameofwebsite.com/whatever) or just the main domain (www.nameofwebsite.com) ?

I would be very, very, very surprised if you found a 2 letter EMD (at least for .com, .net or .org) that was available as pretty much every 2 letter combination has been registered ages ago.

      5. page with PR 0 and no backlinks

Go for it? one of the keywords is one of the departments at amazon
I would go for it. Numbers 3, 4, and 5 should be easy to beat.

it's just as hard as any other keyword...

it depends on the same factors as ANY keyword competition.

It sounds like the conversion rate will be awful. If it is only 2 letters you can guarantee its not going to be a buyer keyword and will be so general you will have a hard time profiting from the traffic.

I'm checking the rest of the top then and...

    6. page with PR 4 and 16,000 backlinks
    7. page with PR 3 and 1 backlink
    8. Invalid, Non-Existing URL 12 backlinks
    9. blogspot site with PR 3 and 30,000 backlinks (only 1 keyword on url name)
    10. PR 1 page, no backlinks

none seem to be optimized for these 2 particular keywords

    still good to go!?!?!

    thanks!
