Now this might be a chicken or the egg situation but let me explain. I took a look at the last 90 days of organic and social traffic to more than 30 websites and saw very similar patterns about 70% of the time. Now I think it's no secret that search engines are working to include social sharing as a stronger signal but it seems that they may be doing it more than we think.
Do me a favor and look at the Google Analytics accounts you have. Compare the social traffic found under Traffic Sources > Social and see if you see very similar patterns.
