I have my own idea to rank a video in YouTube but I need more suggestion on you guys.
#search engine optimization #proper #rank #video #youtube
  • One way to rank a video in YouTube. Do some white hat backlinks on that video from high authority sites.
  • Really, it's about the same approach as it is to rank any page or website.
  • You need views, likes, and comments.

    • Apparently, viral or engaging videos are easier to rank, so bear in mind when creating your video. Analyze other videos that are popular and rank high for your keywords - what your target users like about them.

Fill out all video tag elements: video title tag, video description tag, video tags.

If you have several videos to promote, create your own channel and make its layout appealing. Promote your video in social media. Do some link building.

But most important, start with keyword research with Youtube keyword research tool.
  • Just as you would with any other type of page. Properly optimized on-page "SEO" + backlinks. In this case, using your keywords in the title, description, tags, and video filename.

Though I do think Google gives some consideration to views / comments / likes / etc when ranking videos organically. (In the Google results. Not just YouTube results.)

  • Hi! Here are some basic steps I do to rank my YouTube videos:

    1. Keyword in actual video script, title, description (2-3 times), my video filename, and tags

    2. I include the closed captioning file because my keyword is in my video script

    3. I then share it in FB, Twitter, Google+, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Squidoo, Pinterest, Digg, and my own blog.

    4. I create playlists with my keyword in the title and add my videos to that

    5. I get out in the YouTube community and like, comment, and subscribe to fellow YouTubers videos in the hopes that they will return the favor.

    That's a start, anyway....
  • Few Tips:

    1. Ask bloggers of your nich to look at your video and embed it on their blog
    2. Update your channel
    3. Make more videos
    4. get subscribers
    5. make your videos interesting. with high retention rate towards the end
    6. use meta tags correctly, specially the description and title
    7. Use captions and annotations
    8. Ask your viewers to subscribe your channel for updates and provide regular updates
    9. ask for comments, take feedback

  • For ranking you videos on Youtube itself, you will need social proof - likes, comments, views, etc. These help the most in Youtube rankings.

You can purchase all of this stuff for example on Fiverr. I've been using this guy for quite some time and he's just awesome for that kind of stuff.

For Google rankings of your video, the most important thing is backlinks. Social bookmarks along with purchasing views works the best, because it makes your video appear as if it went viral.

    • Which Fiverr Gig do you use for your YouTube vids?
    • Look at these two reviews:

      - uniquevisitors created 1 week ago This service got my video deleted

      - tophead created 2 weeks ago My account got disabled and I'm not even a youtube partner

      Sounds scary.

    • He is getting so many negative ratings since some days!
  • I bought this gig yesterday ... actually the first fiverr gig i've "bought" before.... This one seems fairly safe.

"I will embed your Youtube Video that is suitable for most audiences (pg13) in 12 websites: 3 Blogs, 8 Websites, and a Facebook page. You will be provided with the URLs. Also will show you how to ping these videos pages with a guide after the video in embedded. Includes 4 comments from 4 different USA accounts"

But ya... if there is any chance something here could get my account banned or even video deleted, then I want to cancel it....

    Thoughts?

    • This brings up that whole 'negative SEO' idea again. If you can get banned for using Fiverr gigs then people could just do it to everyone. That said, who the heck wants to lose their YouTube channel and start over? That Fiverr gig looked until I read those reviews

That gig looks okay to me, but I have a much higher tolerance for self-promotions that Google does!

  • Your title, description and keywords should be properly optimized in order to get more views. YouTube ranking entirely depends on views, comments and likes. Share your videos on social networking website to get more views.
  • You need to update the content of the website and update your sitemap. Submit your updated sitemap to Google webmaster for faster crawling and indexing. You can ping your sitemap too.
  • The Things i do to Rank My Youtube Video's in Google!

    01. When i upload the video to my Youtube Account i make sure that my video file name is the keyword i want to rank for.

    02. Then it is important to think about how your Titel name is gonna be look like. make sure that the keywords (same as video file name) are in your titel. I prefer to put my keywords as the first words in my title.

    03. As description i use a unique whole article written with my keywords. it seems that google likes this in the description of your video's! So the description is very important!

    04. Now you wanna focus on the tags. I use all my keywords in there that i want to rank for!

    05. When your video is live! you should try to get as much views and comments you can get on that video! do this by free tools that will give you views and comment by real people! just like VAGEX . It is important you do this because it will tell google that your video is watched frequently! so it must be liked.

    06. And then the biggest Catch is building backlinks to your video! Cause backlinking your youtube video DOES matter! And the biggest secret i learned on this warrior forum is that you can build your backlinks like crazy on youtube video's! you will not get sandboxed or anything like that! Cause youtube is an authority site! they get millions of backlinks to their site from thousands of people. backlinking your video is differend then backlinking your blog or website! You don't have dripfeed your backlinks created. like you would do with your website! no just spam your backlinks to your video's. i do this everytime with my video's and it works great! never had any problem with it.

keep doing this for every video! till you rank high in google.
    thanks for reading
    greetings gothilda
  • Same as a regular website, just you fell more "free" to blast the shit out of it lol.

    • Pretty true. YT videos can handle a LOT of backlinks since YT has so much authority.
  • Pretty much like ranking a keyword. Baclinking, Facebook, twitter, get traffic to it, some comments and likes.
  • Well the fastest way is to purchase ads so people can see them on youtube or do the free way and build backlinks to it like any normal site. It all depends how far you're willing to go with it. More traffic you get more likes and followers you will get.
  • For proper way to rank a youtube video, you must have to need strong and powerful backlinks that brings lots of traffics, higher search engine rank of your website which comes from the Authorize and genuine sites. So, do quality link building on these sites for high rank.

  • What the OP really want to know is how to rank a video on YouTube and not Google.

    Here is my suggestion.

    1. Optimize title, description and tag.

    2. Embed your video on your site, blog and top web 2.0.

    3. Share your video link on Facebook, twitter, myspace, linkedin. All this will help you start getting real views, comment, subscriptions, likes e.t.c. YouTube uses this as a vote to rank your video.

    4. Want to rank on Google too, do some quality back links.
  • Our customers come to us when they have recently uploaded a video (about a week old) and they get the boost that the video needs by buying views.

These are the steps that they take before doing this.
    1. Keyword Optimize the Title, Description and Tags.
    2. Make sure you use the right category (this is obvious and really helps)
    3. Do some Social Bookmarking (web 2.0)
    4. After this is done, the video needs a boost so that it can reach it's place at the top of the list of videos for the specific keyword so they buy views.

  • if they are just wanting to rank on youtube you do not need 3.bookmarking
Just onpage seo, views likes comments and favs
    • [1] reply
    • True.

But if you're thinking of ranking via Google, you need to throw some backlinks at the video. This has been my experience in most cases.
  • I would suggest you not only focus on youtube....there are many other video sites out there that you can upload videos to...

The basics when uploading a video?

-Make sure you use your main keyword in the filename-
Use your keyword in the description and title

Have your url at the TOP of the video(within your video)...as you know youtube puts ads at the bottom

Have your url at the beginning of the description ...not the end...also make sure you use http:// before your url or it wont be clickable.

If using just youtube make sure you use the animation bubbles!

  • Very good thread with some good information.

Basic you tube ranking concepts: video SEO (title, description tags)

Use Vagex to get you upto 300 views on any new video then in my opinion the best and easiest method to sky rocket your YouTube google ranking is to use a program called No Hands SEO - blasting some backlinks too your videos (method has been responsible for getting to the top of some extremely competetive keywords).

With the above method there is no niche unobtainable!
  • All of the input has been great. I am not sure if this was listed as a suggestion or not, but also doing a transcription of your video can help too.

    • This is something I haven't tried yet, actually. I've heard it works well though.
  • 1: Make the video (obviously, but some people never get this far! )

2: When uploading the video, spend the time it takes uploading to work your options boxes as best you can. Many people love youtube because you can upload and walk away and wait for it to go live.

We'll call these people "lazy", even though it's normal behavior. You take advantage of that, and treat your description box as a blog post. Treat your channel like that. Try to build your channel with the same tags usually, make targeted channels in that way. Treat your video like a blog post, put quality content in it, and pretend your video is just a requirement to posting. The video will do all the work as usual, but your footwork in the options boxes/descriptions etc for that video are going to be what makes the computers want to show it to people. Once people see it, they will be the judge (whether they share it, rate it well, return to it etc), and that will determine the success of your video.

Don't neglect to relevantly share your video around in forums and other places as well.

By going above and beyond with the text parts of each video post, you will immediately put yourself ahead of 99% of other people making videos, who simply put a quick line, if any, in the description, and think the video itself, along with its title (and thumbnail if partnered), will do all the work - put text content in there!

Many bloggers like to put a video on their posts, then write there. You can rank your video by treating it like a blog post itself, and then still use it in the same way on blogs elsewhere.

Don't end up one of those super-lazies who likes to put 200 keywords in the description. It is stuffing, and it is not good for your vid. You will get better results with unique content, ESPECIALLY on youtube where everything appears duplicate (same titles, same content "video", same tage - stand out with unique, long form descriptions, and your video will instantly be top-tier in terms of quality scoring)
