Hello,

This thread is for people to post their Google AdSense's average CTR. And if you have any tips on how to increase it, share ahead.

Do you blend the text links into your page? Or do you make them stand out? Any special placement that gave you the best results?

Anyway, my CTR is only 1.28%. I'm in the test process and will hopefully increase it soon. I learned that vertical ad units (160x600) in the sidebar are horrible and decreases my CTR. At the moment, I am only using the 300x250 ad units. One at the beginning of my content with a float:left, and one at the end with a float:right. My text links' color are the same as the links on my website, and the url color of the ads are the same as well.

I've settled on blue ads--always. I experimented with red, but prefer blue because links are "supposed to be" blue. The text of my ads is black.

My content is "less than black" dark grey, so the ads stand out. The links in my content are dark grey because I don't want the eye seeing links other than the ads. The content links are underlined on mouseover (and turn black). If you have a 160 skyscraper ad it works best on the left side because that's where the eye starts.

I have a 300 or 336 floated left, sometimes another further down floated right. Sometimes I have the 468 at the bottom.

My CTR is significantly higher than low single digits.

Significantly higher than low single digits :O you give me hope.

Alright, I just changed the ad links to the standard blue color. What color do you use for your ad text URLs?

Yeah if the sidebar is on the left, then maybe it might be a good choice, but I always preferred only having 1 sidebar on the right.
