Google Webmaster Tools

by series7examtutor Posted: 14 years ago 3 replies

I use Google Webmaster Tools to check my links. Does Google distinguish between follow and nofollow. It does not pick up all of my links that are out there but what I find interesting is that is picks up some links that I think are no follow as well. For example, it picks up all of my links on Craigslist. However, it does not pick up any of my links on Yahoo answers (also no follow). Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Google does consider the nofollow attribute but even nofollow links have value SEO.

The Google Webmaster Tools will pick both kinds.

You can try some other backlink checker tools such as:

Ahrefs Site Explorer
Majestic SEO : Backlink Checker & Site Explorer

Who knows!

Nofollow was defined as a link that the site owner doesn't vouch for. That's about all anyone knows. WMT lists the links, it doesn't say what each one is worth.
