I am using WP for my site. Google has even indexed my About us & Contact pages. What options I have in WP to tell the search engines not to index a particular page or post.
#engines #page #rank #search

create a robots.txt and tell Google not to index your pages.

    Like this:

    User-Agent: *
    Allow: /
    Disallow: /about/
    Disallow: /contact/

then you need to upload that to your root.

Or you can install a plugin that will do it for you.
Just search for "meta robots" in your install plugins page... and you'll be able to tell WP which posts you want Google to crawl and which not.

You can use a wordpress plugin to alert SE's about your particular page or post that you do not want indexed. Adding a noindex tag will tell the SE's not to index that page.

Always remember that are lot's of robots out there, just be specific in disallowing the spiders on not to crawl on a specific page.

You can add noindex tag to these kind of pages and create a removal request for such pages in Google Webmaster Tools.

You can use “Easy no follow no index” plugin if you want to deindex fewer pages or you can use meta robots if you want to deindex particular pages from google indexing.
