Moving to a new URL

OK so I used to run a site called Bongal but now have relaunched it on a new url Interestingly :

The query I have is bongal and interestingly now link to my new live site so google is getting confused indexing my content.

Do I need to leave the old site live for a few months?

    Why not do a redirect?

    Get everything over to Interestingly, delete your site Bongal, cancel the hosting, then go into your domain settings and redirect it to Interestingly.

    just do a 301 permanent redirect, that way the big G knows what your doing.
