Revitalizing Adwords Account which has been "punished" by Google

I am with Adwords for some time already (3 years?) and when i started i was quite a "noob" and did MANY things wrong.

There's reason to believe that my whole account history is bad and therefore i "enjoy" high CPC and problems with many ads. ( We all know that Google takes "overall" account performance into account if they calculate CPC/Quality score... )

I just saw some older stats of mine from about 2 years ago where i had ads up with (hold your breath....) EU0.03 or EU0.04 minimum bids.

I havent seen bids (on search!!) that low in years anymore...i can tell you that i am lucky if i get a good niche and i pay EU0.30 - EU0.40. There is no way on EARTH that i get any ad up today and bid only EU0.05, not to mention .04 or 0.03...

I DO have great quality score tho, i learned to keep my adgrps tight, i dont use broad...i have some ads with pretty good CTR. (Not many tho) after years i learned a lot about ad wording, KW match types, etc...

Here my questions:

Is there any point/way to "revive" such a account, will i ever see a time again with 0.04 min bids???

If i close this account and open a new one and i use the SAME urls and ads...(because my ads and sites are the same of course)...would i be able to start over fresh....or would Google see that those are the same URLs...so the whole making a new account would be wasted?

What can i do to get out of this hole....i am speechless just seeing those stats from two years ago with such low bids...

    You most likely cannot pay .05 a click in those markets today simply because there is more competition.

    As long as you are keeping up your CTR and cleaning out junk in your campaigns the big G should not punish you.


    If you wanted to open a new account you can do it but jsut use a different credit card. I have 4 accounts. Googles terms say to notify them if you open up a new account butt I never have.

    I think they are more worried that you will run ads on the same keywords on 2 accounts and since I never have done that maybe that is why it is OK.

    anyways, everything on google has got more expensive for everyone. All advertising mediums mature and get more expensive.

    do you have some tips, eg. someone told me to set all match types to "exact" instead of phrase..to get even better ctr?
