Content syndication for link building for SEO? Will it work?

Most recently I have learned that I can post same articles on different article directories and create a backlink to my website. It would not be any problem. And it calls content syndication.

Now my question is will article syndication work for SEO too? Or google will not count duplicate articles for ranking a website as its self promotional work?

    Content syndication is not about posting your article on many article directories. You can just publish your article on one big article directory -- such as ezinearticles -- and let it be picked up by other people. If it's good quality and interesting, people would want to share it. That is why content is king. And yes, it's super effective. This is the actual process of how natural backlinks are created.

    You can still publish it on as many article directories you want, it won't be duplicate content and the backlinks will still be counted. But since the same article will appear on other article directories (content farms), Google will decrease its value.

      Yes, well spun articles are a little more powerful than duplicate articles on different directories. But if you already have a well spun article, why not submit it again on every directory?

    I just dont want to fill up internet with craps. Also I am scared of google. If they start penalizing spun articles my website will go to the bottom of the SERP overnight and I would lost all my investments behind the site within few hours. So I am trying to go for 100% legitimate SEO.
