What kind of domain is better for SEO

Hi, I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with the following question.

I can purchase a domain that is 6 years old and is PR1 first on the top page for a term that gets 14,000 local searches, but doesn't rank for anything else.

or i could get

A slight better domain name(relevance) with no PR that is 9 years old.

I would obviously need to SEO for more keywords either way but was just wondering which is better, and are older domains easier to SEO?

Any answer would be very much appreciated. Many thanks Danny

I think every domains do except co.cc , .tk and all free domain service

if the domain is the exactly the same as long tail keyword it must increase rank and stand at top # 1

Then I have no idea how amazon and wikipedia stay at the top....

Are you purchasing domains, or the website that goes with them?
If you are buying domains, they don't have PR. Web pages do.
A domain by itself would have no PR. Has the site been deindexed
yet? These are questions you have to think about. There is nothing
magical about an aged domain. If you can buy a domain, publish
content on it, using the same urls as indexed content before, you
have a chance. Problem is, google sometimes deindexes expired
domains and everything with them rather quickly. Ditto with
backlinks. What good is a backlink to some page that does not
      exist anymore?

The fact that you are buying 2, always makes me wonder why
more people don't stop making domain resellers rich.

Always makes me think of the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
      But that's a fairy tale.

Sure, pagerank stands for popularity and trust of the site.

        • You should purchase the domain that has PR1. It already ranks high for certain keywords and has some quality backlinks pointing to its pages.

I recommend you to purchase the first domain which have PR1 and PR1 first on the top page for a term that gets 14,000 local searches. You may just need to build some powerful and quality backlinks to get better result.

Assuming the links are all real pointing to it, the one that is actually ranking for something obviously has the opportunity to start making money right away.

You could just buy both though and rank them both for whatever you are targeting. Nothing wrong with having more search engine real estate space.

you should not think about it. you should buy the domain which is 9 years old.PR is not a fact. if you try to get PR 1 it will take 1 month to do that.

You should purchase the first domain as you have said, the keyword has a searches of 14000 and in the top position. SO when you build your site around that keyword you would instantly start getting the traffic. later on you can build more pages with around another keywords. It would be easy to start with a domain which is already ranking. Though PR doesn't matter but yes top ranking with 14000 searches does matter.

Unless the names of the domains are related to what you want to use them for, I would buy a domain without any history and devote my engery on making its own history.

    Buy both.

Use the first domain as your primary site

Use the second domain to build a secondary site which will become a stronger tier 1 link in its own right to boost additional keywords on the first site.

    Rinse and repeat ^^
