Hey Guys - I'm figuring that we're all here to share and learn from each other right?

That being said would you care to share one of your favorite traffic sources on this thread - lets see how many we can get up here!

One of my favorites right now is niche forum posting where I answer daily targeted questions and simply leave my signature link at the end

Simple but sweet!

Whats Yours

  • TBH I somewhat doubt people are gonna sharing anything but SEO/youtube/facebook/twitter/pinterest/forum posting/article marketing/banner exchanges since anyone with a real unique method would ruin his method by sharing it freely here.

    • You must be new here - this question has been asked and answered hundreds of times before with hundreds of traffic strategies being shared.

The main reason it might not get too many replies is because it's been answered in the SEO section too many times to mention.
  • Yeah the simplest ones are usually some of the best ways to generate traffic & leads.

Mine has to be Solo Ads.

You can quickly build your list with these to 500-1000 subscribers in pretty much no time at all.

Once you have these numbers you can use your list to do LIST SWAPS, GIVEAWAY EVENTS etc that allows you to build your list for FREE!!!

Having a list does not just mean you can sell to that list but you can build it even faster once you have the initial numbers.

I really love Solo Ads as they give everyone a chance to showcase their FREE Offers & build a list without having to worry too much about SEO, KEYWORDS, SEARCH ENGINES etc etc.

Looking forward to reading everyone else's thoughts!!!

    • No question solo ads can be a terrific source of targeted website traffic. However, I think some people who use solo ads to build their lists go a little over the top with Adswaps.

I recently unsubscribed from a marketer's list (who I liked) because he simply sent so many offers to his list that you could clearly tell were Adswaps. You have to focus on building your list yes, but a quality list that trusts you is more important than just the number.

It isn't just how big it is, it's how you use it.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Paid = Banner ads
    Free = Guest Posting

If you just used these two strategies and nothing else, you can build a six figure income in no time at all, providing you have an effective sales funnel that is.

    • First thing that comes to mind for quick traffic: Social Media, of course.

But, traffic from here isn't that permanent.
  • Still doing well with search traffic but certainly diversifying to protect sites in the long term. PPC, PPV, media buys and more social media.
  • Great contribution so far guys - thanks for sharing, Solo ads as mentioned by gcbmark20 is definitely a quickfire way to build a list fast as are the banners ads.

I also agree that just choosing two methods and sticking to and mastering them is a great way forward.

    All very useful

  • The most common or simplest ones are the best ones for me. Like social media and YouTube. The reason is that most customers like common and simple means (and usually the most trendy means) marketing is all about buyers and sellers meeting in between.

However, the main idea is to use these common and simple means of acquiring traffic and adding more "spice" to it or doing new and innovative ways to increase traffic.

    Good Luck!

  • My traffic source is Search Engines. Although some view it as risky to place your money on one basket, I personally don't mind it. As Andrew Carnegie said once, "Put all your eggs in one basket and then watch that basket!" For me, diversification eventuates in lost time.
  • In terms of getting instant gratification and results from advertising, I still like pay per click and always will. Free advertising like video marketing and article marketing is still great but it is more like a long term thing.

It is when you combine many strategies at the same time that you can see HUGE results. Don't just limit yourself to one strategy. Combine a few. This is what I do.

Even though I love PPC cause it gets me the quickest results, I still like to do article marketing, video marketing, forum marketing, and using other HIGH traffic websites to promote my website or link.
  • Go to where the lists are, be it Mailing List Finder -- Search & Compare Mailing Lists or other marketers within your market. The best way to secure a deal with list owners if you cannot afford to buy them is to give them an honest irresistible offer.

Put them into a Win situation and you will be surprised as to how many say yes. I do it everyday outside the IM space!
  • my favourite traffic sources are

    solo ads
    blog
    creating link bait
    affiliates
    forums

  • I love the video space so I am definitely a big YouTube fan. But the content I offer also is highly video related...so they seem to work together well. I promote through all the free methods that I can (social media networks, social bookmarking, article marketing).

I think we all do what works for our niche?

But I do think it all hinges and depends on so many things: how fast do you want results and how much are you willing to pay for them? If we're just talking favorites, though, I'm addicted to YouTube

I know of a few good monthly traffic sources, one of the more exclusive paid membership sites, but don't want to be promoting anything against forum rules, but they are definitely out there, some better then others

    • Solo ads, PPC, affiliate program and viral marketing using facebook likes
and Twitter Retweets in order to get a PAID product FREE. Another tactic
that works which people rarely talk about is if your on a number of marketing
list, look out for when they email their subscribers about a new blog post, if
you catch it in time, and you post a comment you can get some pretty good
      exposure

  • Personally I have never used Solo Ads, will need to check them out!

I like PPC or PPV traffic myself, second to that good old SEO
  • Guest blogging is also a good source of free traffic (and backlinks)
