Google is not indexing my site

When I started my site(around may 2012), I used to update it almost everyday.I did that for about 20-25 days and now I update about once a month.

In the beginning my site was getting indexed very quickly. But now none of the pages are indexed. Can you please tell me what out of these may be the major problem?

1.Not updating regularly-I update about once a month. Should I do it more often?

2.I have not started back linking right now.Still learning the basics of SEO and planning a strategy.

3.One of my friends who has some experience in IM told me to do the internal page linking for ON PAGE optimization.Along with that he also told me to try to push an affiliate product in almost all of my posts.

After his suggestion, I have started the internal linking and also promoting products on my posts. But still not all of my posts have product promotions.

Apart from the posts, I also have a product review section. Can the deindexing be due to large number of affiliate links on my website?

If this is the case, should I remove the links or cloak them?

All replies will be appreciated.

If there is no major changes in the page your page will be crawled and not be cached. If you have major change then your page will be cached with a copy to its data base.

If you have built no backlinks, then it makes the job a lot easier to determine what has caused your site to be deindexed, ie: onpage factors.

You should generate some traffic for which page you want to index quick.
You can use social networking sites to generate traffic.

Update your page more often once a month is not enough if possible increase your link building activity as well ping your page regularly until it was already index.
