Is it still okay if I use high PR forum profiles with links in the signature as backlinks?

Here's what I'm thinking, I will have a link of my money site in Web 2.0 sites and live articles in directories. Then I will place a link of my 2.0 sites and live articles in forum profile signatures. I'm thinking about 10 forum profile links per day. What do you guys think, will this work?

  • Link to your money site directly in your sig.

    Rather than using your profile links in your sig, build niche related comment to your links.

    What you are trying to do is call link pyramid.

    It will pay off more if you link your money site in your sig because real people will check out your offer on the forums.

    • I'm not talking about forum posting. I mean just forum profile with links in the signature to my 2.0 sites that links to my money site without participating in the forum. I know its spam, I was just wondering if it will work on what I'm planning to do.

  • It will help, I've done a lot of tests regarding this. You could also test that, here's how I've done it:
    1. I've tracked rankings for a period of 30 days after the web2.0 properties were built;
    2. After the 1 month, I've backed the web2.0 with forum profiles and further increases in rankings were noticed.
    Conclusion: It worked really well in my case
  • Every once in a while I come across SEO's who say that web2.0 link building is dead, but proof like topdown's says otherwise. Has anyone else heard this and found something different? I heard a "so-called" seo consultant say that blog links and forum link are useless today.
  • I'd recommend Bookmarks along with your forum profiles. I've noticed that when I use bookmarks as backlinks I get a big boost in the serps.

    • It's just for trial and I'm not directly linking to my money site. The question is if this will hurt my SERPs or improve. I'm also doing the 1 you guys suggested which is the link of money site in signature and participating in the forum.

  • Yeah, You can surely use your web 2.0 backlinks on forum profile signature links. It is the best stuffs to get backlinks from your strong web 2.0 backlinks. Such a nice thought.
  • Tiered pyramid linking has always been a good strategy for link building. Putting links in your profile doesn't do any good. At least put some effort in posting in threads and have your links in your sig.
